Unfortunately, stay away
I try to be as fair as possible when writing reviews because I know how hard it is to run a golf course. So let me break it down:
Positives:
-Rental clubs are very nice (All Titlelist with a Scotty putter)
-Course Layout is fun
-Staff is pretty friendly
Negatives:
-Course conditions are nasty. Tee boxes are ripped up. Greens are sprayed to look nice but in reality are very beat up. Bunkers are near unplayable.
-Way over priced. The course is not long. Nor nice enough to pay for what they charge.
-PACE OF PLAY WAS BRUTAL. We teed off at 11:40 and didn’t finish until 3:00. No rangers or staff to move play along.
Would highly recommend you save your money and wait to play Tierra del Sol. This place needs a lot of work and help. I really was looking forward to a great round but really feels like an unkept municipal course back in the states.
Case of Supply and Demand
Clear case of limited options and resources. Friendly staff, as they charge $8 for 16oz Gatorade. Rentals were fine. Shag carpet rolled better. Only 9 holes, with different tee boxes. Alternate options on Island are under renovation- give it 6 months, then go there. Overpriced, if you need a fix, play 9 - smile and wave, then hit the beach. Thx for the Hot Deal GN.
Don't waste yiur money. Other reviews are accurate
Divi resorts...you are better then this. If yiure not gping to maintain a golf course as well as yiu do your accomodatuons then close the course and buold more condos. Divi has ezcellent food, accomods5ions and overall facilities. The golf course is not fully a joke but nowhere near the quality something Divi's name on ot shoulld be.
The staff was excellent. The layout and pace of play was pretty good as well. Thats where the good ends.
Fairways are worse then burnt out municipals. The greens were puttable, wi5h a sledgehammer. Th golf cart was a richety piece of bare bones equipment i expect tp fall apart any second. The worst was were the clubs. One reviewer took a picture of the putter "grip" and boy was it accurate. All grips need replacing years ago.
If the place didnt charge but around $50 for 9 holes and rentala, ok. But approaching $150 for such inferioe quality is intentional, blatant robbing of golfers expectations for that price.
When you check in at the counter there is a plaque that reads "no refunds". I was thinking no rain checks. Nop3, its undoubetly becasue so many golfers have wanted their money back after realizing theyre not getting anywhere near the qualtiy they just paid for.
If you get ansy and have to swing a club...go to Terra Del Sol and use their range before going to this place.
First time playing the golf course, no sign for direction, staff not friendly.
“Oh, you’re Golf Now”
The staff was horrible from the second we walked in to check in. Gave them the time and get “they are golf now”. The cashier, the cart guys, everyone literally gave the bare minimum of service and they weren’t kind about it. Have played there 2x before and the service was completely different. Only good for a “played golf in Aruba” place as the course is not fair at best. Greens are long and slow.
Divigolf
Amenities were good. Mulligans restaurant was very nice overlooking the island green.
Pro shop staff was very nice. Some of the starters were very rude and disconcerning.
Course overall
The course is a nice 9 hole course for tourists. They should have a monthly package for those who stay longer
Course overall
Course was good overall. Greens are slower than I am used too. Also the half way house was closed which was unfortunate but not a show stopper
Avoid. Trust me.
The conditions are terrible. The pace of play is the slowest I’ve seen. The “range” is a net. There are no noteworthy holes, just a lot of poorly maintained fairways and tee boxes leading to meh greens.
They should be ashamed.
Divi should be ashamed to operate a golf club that appears to have zero interest having decent course conditions
Save your money
The only thing you can say after your round is that you played golf in Aruba
Other than that it sucked
The greens are about a half inch high and even at that had weeds growing in them
The staff was not helpful the rental clubs sucked that fairways were half bare
Save your money and play at home
Unhappy Aruba
We had our first vacation to Aruba so our schedule was tight with multiple activities.
We booked through Golf Now for the convenience which was a bad idea.
The staff was extremely rude because we used Golf Now.
We did not bring our golf clubs so we rented.
We had one golfer who had paid for green fees and just wanted to ride along due to a medical situation. The course insisted he rent clubs and a staff member followed us to the practice range and first tee and insisted we rent clubs even though he was just riding along.
There was heavy rain at the start of our tee time. The staff would not offer any flexibility with our tee time so we had to play in the rain which was miserable. The golf bag did not have a rain cover and they refused to provide us with towels.
IT IS OBVIOUS that ARUBA is not a golf destination as the other golf course on the island was under construction and only had 9 holes open.
A terrible experience for avid golfers! I notified Golf Now to let them know of this situation but I feel Golf Now should not allow golf courses to participate if they are not able to be professional for Golf Now customers.
Sad
I’ve played here over 150 times over the past years .
It’’s a shame on how bad someone let this course go. The feel I got from the experience is that they don’t care and might have corporate plans for the land instead of it staying a golf course .
I hope I’m wrong and someone with some say and power can receive the correct budget to bring it back in a timely fashion before everyone gives up on playing vacation golf .
Best Wishes
