Leeuwkop Golf Club was borne in 1990. Building a golf course for the Department of Correctional services was the dream of Lt-General Koos van Zyl of DCS. Thru many negotiations and with great determination he eventually received the go-ahead from Brigadeer N.J. Nel in 1989.
Leeuwkop became one of the most affordable golf courses to play on, and become a member of, in the Northern parts of Jo'burg.
