Greens are good
The greens are in a lot better shape than other courses I’ve played this winter
Good winter golf
Good day for winter golf. The Rate/Slope at River Oaks would indicate the easiest course in the county. I rarely see anyone score below 90. On this day playing partners were 100+ with a dozen balls lost.
Also, front tee Drop Zone on #3 hole is needed.
Play the correct tees then please.
Playing partners we were paired with complaining how hard the course and that always lose to many balls. They played the blue tees. The shot mid 90’s.
Play the tee that matches your game and have more fun.
Play the correct tees, please
If you can’t break 90 every single round, play the White Tees out here.
For years I’ve watched struggling golfers play the Blue tees, because there are Black tees, and they proceed to lose at least a dozen balls per round. Amazing.
Great fall round
River Oaks GC is a challenging course despite its seemingly short length which is due to narrow fairways, trees, and lots of water hazards; the layout makes you think on every hole and strategically consider your line and locations on many shots; the pace of play was fantastic because of the fall weather which was cooler than normal and threatened of rain which never transpired; the staff has been exceptionally friendly and accommodating, and the course was in excellent condition; I look forward to another round, hopefully, before the season ends.
I wasn’t playing well today and it’s just a tough course where you have to place the ball well so probably a tougher course than I should play for now but it is a good well maintained course
Par 70 Course
Great course. Can shoot low scores, but be careful if you try to use your driver on the holes that have a big risk versus the reward
Let us know about the punch and sand first.
Front nine puts you in your place. If you can harness your double bogey self loathing, the back nine has a lot of birds available.

Great course
Very challenging course. Very good condition of golf course. Very well manecured. Greens run true
Another challenging, enjoyable round
River Oaks GC is a challenging course for me, but one I enjoy playing because it requires strategic and thoughtful decisions in many holes; it isn’t a course that I hit driver off every par 4 and par 5 which is fun and challenging; knowing your club distances and playing clubs consistently come into play each time I undertake a round which is what brings me back; I have not mastered any of the holes, but I have played just about each hole as well as I could, but not every outing which is frustrating at times but what brings me back; the staff was very friendly, and the course was in good shape; there were a few drought affected spots on the holes, but they didn’t affect play much; I wouldn’t encourage beginners to play this course because there are many trees and lots of water hazards, but it is a course that will challenge every player.
