Airway Meadows review
Just played here last Friday August 2, 2024. The course is in excellent condition but is very hilly. It was hot and humid. Fairways and greens in excellent condition. Major problem is that 5 out of 9 holes on the front and back nine they were mowing the fairways while we and other golfers tried to play in the middle of a late morning and early afternoon. Basically peak times for golf. It was very annoying and I have never seen this on any other course I have played. Even when they stopped mowing to let us play the machines were quite noisy. The layout of the course is peculiar in that there are a majority of dogleg holes where you have to layup with a 3 or 5 wood. We could have used some holes that were straighter. Also, golf carts are from 1960. No windscreen and very old. Final rating for this course is is 2.5 out of 5. Saratoga Lake is much better.
Great Wednesday Deal!
Excellent golf course. Challenging, but fair. The greens are in mint condition. Perfectly maintained fairways. Lots of tee time availability. The bar is excellent and the food is great.
Memorable Layout
This is a solid course to play on a visit to the Saratoga area. Nice staff, well-maintained and a very pleasant round of golf.
Situated around a small landing strip gives the course a little flair. For me, Airway Meadows was one of those rare courses where I can remember every hole after a single round, especially the more open front nine and particularly the par-3 third which requires a long downhill carry.
Interesting par 5s, including No. 18 which also requires a long carry on the drive. Fun course, look forward to playing again.
Good experience
Pleased to have played Airway Meadows while visiting the area. Very nice scenic layout. Tees, fairways and greens in beautiful condition. Everyone we met was extremely friendly. Will definitely be back.
