Lamesa Country Club
About
Lamesa’s semi-private country club recently underwent a complete renovation that modernized the course and significantly improved the greens. Despite the ragged look of the clubhouse due to ongoing construction, this is a nice facility that offers 9 holes of pure wind-blown pleasure.
This flat course is loaded with trees, but for some reason that doesn’t stop the wind from beating down even the most macho golfer. The new design features four water holes and almost 30 bunkers. The feature holes are No. 4, a 190-yard par 3 with water on the right (not the most ideal par 3 for tornado-like conditions), and the mammoth 435-yard No. 7, which plays into the prevailing southwest wind.
Getting there : Driving north from Midland on Hwy. 349, take the Snyder-Lubbock road to the right, then drive 2 miles to Radio Rd. Turn left on Radio and it will take you straight to the course.
