Dinosaur Trail Golf and Country Club

We arrived there very excited to play as we had brought friends from Edmonton and also Ottawa telling them how they would never forget playing there. A few of us had played there a couple of times before and when we walked into the club house our jaws dropped. What used to be a space filled with dinosaur paraphernalia including merchandise from the Tyrell Museum and other local establishments were gone. My thoughts are the new owners don't want to support local, only themselves.

Just a cavernous room with no atmosphere. The kitchen was not operational ( locals the night before warned us of that and take our own lunch ), a bar, check in counter, a vending machine and a few tables.

When we went to check in, we were told we had the wrong day and come back tommorrow. We explained we had booked for the Saturday here and Pine Hills on Sunday and told them we were all out of towners and they must have entered it on the wrong day. Our times were 10:00 and the next right after and we were told that if we wanted to stick around we could play at 3:45.

They had no empathy whatsoever and the boss guy told us he had been in the golf business for 30 years and doesn't make mistakes.

i work at Whitetail Crossing and Goose Hummock as a starter /marshall and this happens every once in a while..When it does, we do our best to accomodate the players.They couldn't have given a hoot and it was very obvious. The groups waiting behind us to pay heard the exchange going on and when we were trying to calm down in the parking lot after being treated that way, 2 of the groups came up to us and agreed with us as the way it was handled was terrible. They even got their phones out to see if they could find us a spot on a different course in the area. We were out of luck and we did thank them for their help.

Too add insult after being told they were full and couldn't get us in is when we looked down the first fairway, which was empty, and the next 4 some was half way down the 2nd hole.

They didn't have a starter or a marshall out there, so how did they have a clue what was going on.

This is a memorable course and would love to play it again, but will not play there again until there is a change in owners.

i would highly recommend planning a golf trip without Dinosaur being included.

As far as Pine Hills, we had a great experience, treated top notch, and an amazing and beautiful course to play.

I had some friends coming to town for southern Bc and figured the layout at Dinosaur Trial would be interesting for them and they absolutely loved it. The weather was excellent for October and the course wasn’t that busy so it was a very nice experience.

It’s like being on a different planet. The scenery on the back 9 is second to none.

Booked a tee time for 830 as a single. When I arrived the guy at the counter told me they were full and could not let me go out. They were clearly not full only singles we’re going out. He wouldn’t even let me go golf the back nine even though it was wide open. This isn’t the first time this has happened either. Customer service is a complete joke at this course.

Really need a course Marshall to move play along. Long waits between tees - often as much as 20 minutes.

The guys at the course were great. We received twilight rates much lower than our booking suggested. We had an amazing low price meal on the deck before our game! Cart included in cost (required for back 9). Just sone work on cart path needed. Otherwise a great date!

Golf was great, bathrooms need cleaning desperately, the range balls full of Mud.

Good course for any golfer. Front nine is a relatively easy play. Back nine is more like target golf. Stunning views on back nine. Great course overall.

Maintenance is not up to par. 36C temperatures and no refreshment cart. I won their open in 1992 when it was only 9 holes. Back nine has a challenging layout but there is still winter kill in late Aug. I was disappointed.

Front 9 plays well and fairly open but when moving up to back 9 must be ready for tougher and narrow fairways with blind shots and layups necessary. Easy to lose a few balls.

The old nine maintenance has gone down. Back nine has a good design but lacks money or energy for maintenance. Example is winter kill still on the green in late August. Really hot day (35c) and no refreshment cart. I was even hoping to see a trophy case since I won their open in 1992. None to be seen. I probably will not go back since it’s over an hour drive.
