Situated between Chilliwack and Abbotsford, Chilliwack Golf Club offers views of the Cascade and Coastal Mountains from every direction that give it a secluded feel despite the fact that it's only 45 minutes from Vancouver. The course has been the Fraser Valley's most popular for over 50 years. The fairways are lined with trees and a creek meanders through the back nine. Strategically placed bunkers accent the rolling contours of the terrain, which are subtle but tricky. In addition to the golf course, Chilliwack also boasts one of the best practice facilities in the Fraser Valley. It includes a grass driving range complete with a fairway bunker and mounding, practice chipping and putting greens, and even a practice hole with greenside bunkers. One of the facility's unique features is the 130-yard practice fairway that has a pitching green and two greenside bunkers.

Nice pro shop staff but…

This course has a great range, and proshop with just a few high end clubs and a great range of Travis Mathew products. and offers some interesting amenities, snack shack at the turn around, and atlas group. But the course fairways have seen better days lots of bare spots and weeds. I feel like a lot of the holes do not offer a lot of variety holes (4-11) lots of pot holes on cart paths and. Few disrepair tee boxes. I also found other members or board members can be quite unfriendly to interact with too. This should be $60 course to play any above that is over charged.

Lovely day in the sun

Chilliwack offered me and a friend a lovely day out. Gorgeous hot sun, some entertaining and challenging holes but nothing too difficult to put me off playing again. A lovely balance between achievable and pushing my abilities to play as well as I can do. The pace of play was good but we were stuck behind a junior event and despite teeing off half an hour after the last group to go out, we caught up to them on many holes and were waiting to hit. Perhaps on another day, we would have been moving a bit smoother.

One downside were the conditions of the course. The lack of irrigation left a lot of dry fairway and the need to be constantly playing preferred lies. I am aware that there is a huge irrigation project in the pipeline and I believe that when it is installed and the holes get the proper treatment in the ever hotter summers, this course will be an absolute gem to play on.

Overall, this was a truly enjoyable round at a lovely course. the members and staff at the course were fantastic and really helped make the experience an enjoyable one. Hopefully it won't be too long before I'm back.

booking difference

I book Chilliwack golf course with TeeOff , which redirects to Golfnow , anyway it’s $63 with power cart sign , but when we are at the golf course , the manager told us it’s not come with it , after arguing with them , they only give us free pull carts . They said I had to talk to golfnow about it even I keep showing the golfnow and TeeOff apps are power cart incl . The manager said they will clarify with TeeOff no power cart incl . So i paid the some money but disappointed without power cart . I check the TeeOff and Golfnow apps , they still charge the same money and the power cart sign still in it , iIt may make others golf player frustrated when they are at the golf course . Hope someone will make the righ things .

Consistent

Chilliwack is one of the most consistent courses I play and review.

The practice facilties are always in good shape. They have a grass range which is always a nice touch. CGCC has a fantastic kids development program which has produced some great young players,

The new wedding facility has brought some stability to the property and added some much needed updates. The main clubhouse needs to be redone but that will come with time.

The course layout is fantastic, and what I, and many others enjoy, is the ability to walk this course. The backdrop of the surrounding mountain ranges are surreal. Play here in the evening on a sunny day and you will know what I mean.

Overall, Bryan Ewart ,the manager, has done a great job with the course and they are in good hands for years to come.

Best choice all round

Chilliwack is the best and only choice around for:

1. Full golf course

2. Grass Driving range

3. Bunker/short game area

4. Putting area

5. Dedicated studio for teaching

6. Clubhouse with lockers (old and gross) but got em’

7. Restaurant

8. Kids programs

I’m sure their are more meta reasons but this facility which has been named PGA of B.C. FOTY has a solid base of members with new ones coming in each year.

If you’re looking for a good all round value. This is your choice. Course it’s self is in good condition, plays at 121 slope from the tips, which isn’t overly challenging. Hit your shots and have distances close and you will have a good chance at scoring well.

Scenic views throughout the course are an added bonus to the green free.

Keep up the great work Chilliwack!

Chilliwack GC

Chilliwack GC offers a nice walk & a fair test of your golfing skills. The fairways are well framed by a variety of mature trees which provide most of the courses defences. Driving straight is paramount as its hard to score out of the rough & from the treeline. There are no elevation changes of note on offer so your yardages are pretty straight forward... what you see is what you get. The greens are receptive & will occasionally remind you that poorly struck putts never go in.

Confused, Hear me out!

I've never really been able to figure out what the presumed hype is about CGC or why the dedication to the property from locals. I've played here several times and from what I can see it's a baby boomer crowd that got involved a while ago and has not left. The course itself I find very boring. Not a lot of character and there is no real punishment for hitting a bad shots, it's just in the next fairway and you probably still have a good shot at the green. Hole after hole seem very similar. Flat and slight dog leg.

Club house, pro shop and every other building on the property are very old, run down and have moth balls type feel to them. Feels like walking into a Royal Canadian Legion.

Driving range is average at best.

Wind is present a lot of the time which becomes annoying.

NOW, what I can't figure out for the life of me is their higher price tag for what this course is and offers. I have no problem paying hundred on a green fee but for similar price I can go play any of the Whistler courses, Northview, Furry Creek and many others. $90+ the other day with cart. I do not think this course should be over $59 with cart. This is comparing the overall course experience with those in the area (Sandpiper, The Falls, even Cultus. These all have tremendous Views, Character and give you an alive feeling and energy when on their properties)

I think that if they have the membership money to pay for upgrades they need to do it fast because I don't believe it's an attractive facility for younger adults looking to get memberships, do business, entertain and so on. This course will fail as baby boomers die off unless some major changes are made to the property.

Having said all that, you can review any of my other reviews, they are 99% positive and upbeat. I've lived in Chilliwack for 18 years and just can't figure this one out. Sorry guys.

Totally agree. I would play The Piper over Chilliwack anytime. 15 minutes more to drive and is a great course, clubhouse, restaurant, staff etc.

I laugh at the ego of some members at Chilliwack? It's not very prestigious and in fact pretty crappy course.

nice course

golfed today, april 6, 2014, at 1:16 pm. course was great, game was good, staf was great. my husband and I were just a bit taken back when one of the three some, in front of us said, as we were waiting to tee off., I don't mean to sound ______, but its going to be slow, their's 3 females ahead of us. Nice, being as I am a female sitting there waiting to golf. It surprised me to have such etiquette as this on such a classy golf course. as it turned out all 3 were hackers themselves1

Luck of the Irish

I'm from vancouver , Burnaby to be exact , I drove my mother out to Sardis to visit with school girl friend from days gone by! I found myself with several hrs on my hands while they visited, so the obvious choice was too get out on the links ! I discovered " chilliwack golf club while scrolling through golf now for a available tee time, I teed on my own @12:12 and played a very playable golf course, that was exceptionally dry considering two weeks prior there was a foot of snow, with carnage of trees and branches all scattered throughout the course! I found the greens to be quite pure , with lots of tree lined fairways , and creeks meandering through several holes! Staff was very friendly , courteous and helpful as well as greens crew staff that took the time wave or say hi along the way! I would recommend chilliwack golf & country club for a great relaxing fair test of golf and a truly memorable experience !

Fast and Challenging

The weather was decent, with a little forecasted rain. The days prior brought a lot of rain so I was uncertain what the condition of the course would be like. To my surprise the course was in great shape, greens were flat and true and the fairways firm. For an early December round I was incredibly happy with the condition.

Excellent golf facility

CGCC includes range balls with your green fees which is a smart idea. The range and warm up area is excellent.

The course played really well considering the time of year (late November). Greens were in good shape and pace of play was good. Easy walking course but challenging pin placements today.

If you keep it in play you can score pretty well. Don't hit the driver on every hole when an iron or fairway wood will do.

An easy course to walk.

A nice flat course. Water comes into play on about 1/3rd of the holes. There are enough challenging holes to make you work for your pars. Very much a middle of the road course.

friendly staff and players

This course is a little far from my house, but I and other players were satisfied with the course. The staff was kind and other players were friendly. The green aeration was done recently which I did not know before reservation, but it was o.k.
