Good value
Course in good shape. Foursome ahead was very slow and needed some expediting by the marshal who basically is just a starter. Otherwise still great value.
Just ok golf now rating generous
The fairways in places are equal weeds and turf. We would have been totally lost with the layout but were gifted by local players in our group.
The starter is outstanding
Almost, good times at Green Acres
This can be course difficult for a couple of reasons.
One is the layout of the fairways and unusually small greens. You have to be spin on at least 1/2 the holes as the greens are small with the the second cut around the green very small which easily places your ball in the deeper thick grass even though you landed fairly well on the green, but rolled off through the second cut and in the deep grass protecting the green. I’m a mature amateur who golf’s a couple dozen times a year but my skill didn’t match this courses narrow fairways and smallish greens. Overall I still loved it, but if you’re over 70 don’t try to walk it. One more comment is they don’t rent a cart after 2:30 which was a big disappointment.
Alway a fun course
Lots of patchy areas on the fairways Greens okay. Some maintenence issues. Still a fun course to play with open fairways.
Poor green/rough condition
Green condition and rough condition were very poor. Course layout was also not good.
Good day unless you were under a tree
Good round of golf though a little slow given that the course didn't appear to be very busy.
As we were approaching the 8th green, we heard a tree just off the 9th tee rumble, crack and then about three limbs, all between 6 and 8 inches in diameter broke off and crashed to the ground. Thankfully the group ahead was on the tee box and not around. It took maybe 3 seconds from the first (very) loud noise, until the limbs were on the ground. Plenty of excitement.
Easy access
Tee times are not a problem as they are on the Vancouver municipal courses.
