Alway a fun course
Lots of patchy areas on the fairways Greens okay. Some maintenence issues. Still a fun course to play with open fairways.
Poor green/rough condition
Green condition and rough condition were very poor. Course layout was also not good.
Good day unless you were under a tree
Good round of golf though a little slow given that the course didn't appear to be very busy.
As we were approaching the 8th green, we heard a tree just off the 9th tee rumble, crack and then about three limbs, all between 6 and 8 inches in diameter broke off and crashed to the ground. Thankfully the group ahead was on the tee box and not around. It took maybe 3 seconds from the first (very) loud noise, until the limbs were on the ground. Plenty of excitement.
Easy access
Tee times are not a problem as they are on the Vancouver municipal courses.
Needs some maintenance
its one of the only local courses you can get on last minute, probably for the reason that it could use some more upkeep. Fair bit of missing grass and dirt patches on tee boxes. some of the greens are small and severely sloped. The greens could do with being made larger and improving the slopes to make it way more enjoyable, of note greens, #3, 6, 8, 9, 13, 16. But then the course would only get busier and harder to get on...pick your poison.
Course bogged down at 17th hole, 4 groups waiting to t off. The Pro shop staff (Scott) were very helpful and asked us about the issue and helped with the situation we were very impressed.
Pace of play
Usually the pace of play is adequate. However, when I played yesterday it was very slow. The group in front of us were extremely slow. Every hole we had to wait and at the turn they decided to take their sweet time going to the clubhouse and didn't tee off on the 10th until we were finished the 9th hole. They didn't even offer to let us play through. At this time they were 1.5 holes behind the group in front of them. At the end of the round they were probably almost 2 holes behind. I was out for a leisurely round so it wasn't a big deal but never saw a Marshall once to try and get them to speed up. Just shy of 5hrs to do the round.
Not bad for the price (could probably be a little cheaper)
Tee boxes are brutal. Carts are over priced.
Course layout is a little odd (doubling back and having to circle around holes)
Greens were surprisingly soft and the fairways were quite good shape.
Great course
Course was in excellent condition great course on a budget
Slow round
Took five hours when it should take four. Also course layout odd with some greens next to each other. Not ideal for wayward shots.
Fun round!
Beautiful day. Good friends. No bugs!
I will be back.
4 hrs. and 50 minute round on a course that should be no more than 4 hrs.
