Tarandowah Golfers Club
About
Tarandowah Golfers Club has a unique layout that closely resembles traditional Scottish links golf courses. There are undulating greens and sloped fairways that are made up of bentgrass and wispy fescue. Although there are no water hazards, Tarandowah Golfers Club boasts more than 100 deep, sod-faced bunkers that prove to be just as challenging if not more. Strong winds blow through the golf course, a factor that will affect your game if not careful. Tarandowah Golfers Club has several tricky uphill par 4s, but its longest and one of its more challenging holes is the par-5 14th, which stretches to 588 yards.

Canadian Links
Having grown up on links courses in the UK this was a decent replica, obviously lacking wind from the coast but greens bunkers were great condition. Course overall was very good, can understand why it's rated so highly. After 8 holes of good pace we obviously caught up with people and the last 10 holes went at a pace of play over 5 hours. Links golf is not for beginners in the UK and it's no different here, highly recommend only seasoned golfers with an average 18 handicap or less play. This would likely improve the pace of play but unfortunately slow play in Ontario is a plague no matter what course.
Fun but challenging.
Fun course design. Makes you have to plan your shots, you can’t just go around hitting your longest club straight. Course is kept in good conditions but other than that it’s not great. Small clubhouse, small driving range, terrible carts with terrible cart paths. The quality of golf is good but o expect everything else up to the same standard for the price.
Bunker city
Real links style course with bunkers everywhere. if you want to score , avoid the bunkers.
Tuesday Pleasure
Worth the 2 hour drive every time.
Firm and fast on day of play. Bunkers were in great shape. Staff are always a pleasure to chat with.
(Disappointed) Ranked 68 in Canada 2024? That’s a joke
Nothing really special about this course other than the pothole bunkers. Looked more like a goat pasture. But if you like the view of a bunch of farm land, there’s plenty of that.
Not much of a clubhouse for something this highly ranked.
No maintenance done at the driving range. No good grass to hit off of (thank goodness it was complimentary)
The fairways were hard as a rock. Greens were in good shape. Staff is friendly - no issues there.
If you’re a high handicap golfer, you will probably like this course, but low handicap golfers will definitely question how this course is ranked in the top 100.
If you’re coming from out of town, there are probably some better options to choose from but if you want to try it out, prepare to be disappointed.
Nice Course
Ground was a bit hard, challenging course. Had a different type of sand in bunkers which provided a new challenge. Nice Layout.
Pace of play no marshall to be found
Played yesterday and the course was super dry
Greens are fast
One of my longest round waiting almost 5-10 minutes at each tee box
No marshall to be found
fun links course
like a links course should be if you can't be seaside - firm fairways , fescue grasses instead of rough , plenty of deep bunkers, and lots of curves on the greens .
true links feeling
If you ever want to try or play a links course, you can with this course. Fun to play, challenging yet forgiving. Great for all levels!
Gem of a course in Southwestern Ontario
This course is a hidden gem in Avon Ontario. it is a great links style course - I play it every time I make my way to London to visit my in-laws. Highly recommended!!
Challenging and frustrating
The good:
The course was beautiful and the weather was nice! The staff were friendly and helpful and the driving range was nice and close to the starting point.
The bad:
The bunkers sand was about as hard as cement, the tee blocks broke 3 tees just trying to put them in, one of the holes is almost on the end of the driving range, our cart was hit with 2 balls from the range while driving on the fairway.
The understandable:
The greens, I understand the course is meant to be difficult but I found the greens were incredibly hard to judge and there is no consistency across the course on this.
Overall:
I enjoyed the views and spending time with friends. There were just too many factors that were outside my control that made the game difficult.
love it
If you want to experience golf in Great Britain save yourself the cash and play Tarandowah. Great track in marvelous shape.
