Great Course,exceptional value
A very nice course, picturesque
Great shape
Sand traps need work buy greens are excellent
Friendly Calerin
Played nine early Sunday morning. Joined two members who were practicing for their upcoming men’s night. Everyone here was super friendly- guy in pro-shop, starter and the other golfers. Great positive vibe. Course in excellent condition. Bunkers have improved since last time I played here. We’ll designed, fun layout.
Great layout, poor marshalling
This is a 9-hole course that can be challenging. Usually very well maintained and challenging. The Marshall doesn’t seem to care about pace and inserts members at the turn (playing 18) messing up the pace.
Very pleased
First time playing Calerin and it was a pleasant surprise. Very well-kept course. A challenging layout with some long holes that let you use a variety of clubs. I was impressed by the quality of sand in the bunkers too. Nobody likes being in a bunker, but when you end up there it's better to have good sand than hard mud.
Great Course, Horrible Management
Great 9 hole course with a very different mix of tee decks to make it a playable 18. Course design and condition is nice with the main flaw in this area being the bunkers being more of a thin dirt, less than half an inch deep before hitting firm ground. Consistent poor bunkers throughout and there are a lot of them.
Biggest reason this isn't a higher rating is the classic Golf North management ruining a good thing. We paid for 18 and made the turn after 2hrs on the dot only to see 4 foursomes waiting at the tee deck. They were an organized group playing some sort of small tournament with the first group teeing off as we approached. With a marshall on the tee deck he told us that because it is currently their tee time they have the right of way. A group just coming off of nine, just the 3rd group of the day, was told to wait until this group of 4 foursomes went off, a 40 minute wait. We asked why couldn't we just get ahead of this cluster as we're in the middle of our round and he said because it's their tee time. Zero logic or common sense here.
We left after 9 because there is no way we're waiting for a 5 hour round. Pathetic employees to ruin a good day and poor management and tee time booking to allow this on a crossover 9 hole course.
Walkable 9-holes with alternate tee boxes for back 9
Course was walking-only no carts as there had been snow cover up until the morning we played. Good drainage - wasn't muddy and no standing water on any of the lies. Good layout. Could see other players on other holes but no danger of incoming balls. Nice looking holes. Some tee boxes had been aerated. Conditioning ok for last week in Ontario November. Fallen leaves had been removed so balls easy to see and find. Pace of play was fine with all groups walking. No food or beverage at end of season.
Don'r be fooled.
Only 9 holes but with tee block relocation on the repeat 9 when playing 18 this course offers a great challenge. Very cool and windy the day we played but great day. Greens were in great shape not showing the usual signs of winter prep. Overall conditions showed management's commitment to offering a good quality tract to play at a reasonable rate.
Calerin late fall
Busy and a bit wet... but very playable and decent pace considering everything!
No Marshal
Great course! Play it about 10 times a year, thee only issue I have is the play can be very slow at times (waiting on every tee for players who have 3 open holes in front of them and not once ask if you would like to play through!!!). And the Marshal does nothing about it, EVER!!
Nice 9 hole course
Place was a little busy but other than that had a great round it does play like a 18 if you play the different tee blocks greens was in good condition did not have a great round but played with a nice group of guys.
Bad etiquete
I joined three guys for the first 9 but one was only playing 9. As its a 9 hole track we had to slot in with people teeing off on their first hole. We were told to go behind a 4 ball who were on the tee. They were very slow and obviously couple had little golf experience. They lost the game in front by one hole after one hole and were standing around and practicing shots they had messed up. By the fourth i asked to play through but they said no so we just drove past them onto the 5th hole. My point is that the Marshall saw them on the first and did not follow up with them to tell them to let quicker players through. Basic bad etiquette and management resulted in me having to miss 3 holes of the 9 !!!!
