Chopped down a lot of trees
Missing a lot of trees since I last played. Makes the first hole a lot easier.
Fun course - decent layout with water and some elevation changes.
Beautiful Byrnell
Played our first round at Byrnell this season this past weekend. The fairways and greens are in really great shape, the carts are cushy and the staff are, as always, friendly. And thanks to some gentlemen in front of us who welcomed us to play through, the pace of play was excellent!
Good, but not great
First time playing here, and probably the last. Figured I’d give it a try since it’s close to home, but the pace of play was really slow. Groups were taking a really long time getting through the holes and this course plays pretty short. Very hilly and the greens have some crazy elevations and they were pretty slow. Overall not a bad course but not great, kinda what you’d expect a country course to be.
Missing a few things
The course didn't provide any off course amenities. The course layout was fine, except the last two holes. We were hit by a ball on number 9 from a player on number 8, as well as lost a few balls on number 9 to the road. Maybe a net would be a good safety feature. Also we were there on a Saturday of a long weekend and we're surprised that there was no refreshment kart on the course.
Great course!
Played a round while we were up at the cottage. It’s a great little 9 hole course where you can still take out the big stick.
Course was in fantastic condition and the staff was friendly. Might be my new favourite course…
