Amazing Value for Public Course
Very Lush and Well Conditioned
Despite the June 2016 drought-like conditions in Ontario, the course was very lush and well conditioned. Pace of play was excellent. Many holes had spruce trees lining the fairway but easy enough to punch back out if your t-shot is errant. Greens rolled true. Enough water and hazards out there to make it interesting. Great clubhouse for a meal. Loved the day!
Great course with great views
Innerkip has been on my list of must plays for a few years now and the main draw was the signature island green on #5. However, this isn't why I will be coming back.
The course was in amazing shape, from tee to green. This was actually one of the only courses that I have played that have a first cut of rough. Which was nice because if you just miss the fairway, the first cut is still short enough to be considered fairway on some courses.
The greens were in excellent shape, although they might have been a little firm. I think I only had 1 or two ball marks from high wedge shots onto the green. All the greens were also very consistent throughout the round, which made putting a treat for once.
I will see you soon Innerkip!
Train!!!
Have played here for several years. I'd have a hard time finding a criticism of this course. It can be walked, but I recommend a cart. There are some long walks between holes. Course was purchased and renovated by a landscape company in the 90's. They built a beautiful clubhouse. Locals often visit here for dinner. Most holes are tree lined with access under most of the mature trees. You would only lose a ball in the water or long grass surrounding the back of most greens. Tee blocks are spacious and flat. Fairways are generous with slopes on some of the pinch points to funnel the ball. Greens are large, sloped with some undulations. The signature hole is #5. This is a 350 / 308yd island green. Green is sloped uphill from front to back, so will hold most second shots that land. The second signature hole is #13 which faces a man made pond with landscaped waterfall. The hole doglegs left at the pond. A 250 straight tee shot will bounce off the rocks and into the water. Interesting holes. Staff are always friendly. Rosie's Halfway House is passed 4 times during a round, providing easy access to food, drinks and washroom. A 19th hole drink on the patio gives a view of the 9th/10th & 18th holes. Generally a pleasant experience.
