If you get a chance PLAY this course
As it turns out this course is 7 properties over from my sons house. They paired us up with another twosome and we had a great time. Lots of fun to play, wide landing areas and BIG greens. Friendley and helpfull staff in the pro shop. The layout is great no repetitive holes. Tough par 3's. The course was in excellent condition.
Great course - felt like a member
Staff was friendly. Course was not busy at the time of my tee off. Joined a pair of golfers playing ahead of me. They were great! One was a long-time member and I got the lowdown on the course. He is quite an ambassador for the club. Enjoyed a beer following the round and the facility is great. I would definitely consider joining this club if I lived closer to it. It's a gem.
Great Value!
The best deal in SW Ontario! A playable yet challenging course. It hosted the Canadian Women's Amateur Championships and other national events. It has a driving range included with green fees and a true championship course.
Nice Track
long rough, fast greens, great sand and a very nice layout.
A Good Day
From the first contact in the pro shop to returning the golf carts-a courteous, professional and friendly staff treated us like members rather than guests. The affable starter gave us clues about how to play the first hole, what the expected time of play should be for our foresome, asked us kindly to use proper course etiquette and wished us a good round. The course has always been known for its fine condition and with a national tournament on the horizon the conditions were even above their normal standards. Pace of play was good, except for some twosomes that were allowed out. Greens were large and accepting and ran true and relatively fast. Many holes with risk/reward choices made for some interesting choices off the tee and for second shots. Overall a fine course and a pleasant experience.
Must play
This course is extremely well cared for. It was my third time there and I can't say enough about it. Lots of elevated tees and very challenging for all levels of golfers. Very pretty layout and even the power carts are top notch. A true country club experience.
Craigowan
Amazing course; lush; just spectacular condition. Great mix of challenging holes, speedy greens.
comes highly recommended, loved it so much played it twice in a week.
Thanks!
Craigowan One of the Best
I'd wanted to play this course for years and it was definitely worth the wait. From amazing views and conditioning to an extremely interesting layout that demanded all of the shots, it was a very fine day. I'll be back often!
Gorgeous Craigowan!
Outstanding golf course rich in Stanley Thompson history. Absolutely beautiful layout. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. This kind of mature high level course is a feather in GolfNow's cap. Hopefully other courses such as Brantford and Westmount of Kichener will learn from Craigowan how GolfNow can help with public outreach creating revenue for the club, both in green fees and the prospect of generating interest in memberships. I will be inquiring about a membership at Craigowan after yesterday's round!
nice old-style former private club
anybody can have a nice time here...big landing areas and greens...the good players can post a nice low score...in nice condition,as it should be,with plenty of members still there since going semi-private
It's actually a Robbie Robinson design!!!! (He was an understudy of Stanley Thompson though).
