Hawk Ridge Golf and Country Club - Hawk's Island
About
Hawk Ridge Golf & Country Club offers two 18-hole courses and one par-3, executive course. The golf courses are spread across nearly 400 acres of ponds and mature forests. Hawk’s Island is the nine-hole course, situated southeast of the other 36 holes at the club. The terrain is mostly flat but there is some undulation in the large, bent grass greens. The signature hole of the golf course is No. 5, which requires a downward approach shot to a tricky island green that is flanked by bunkers on both sides. The Hawk’s Island Course is ideal for juniors or beginners, but it is also great for golfers who just want a quick but challenging round.

Great course. Got my first hole in one!
Hole 12, 185 yds, back pin. Very happy.
I'm looking forward to playing at Hawkridge again soon.
Hidden Gem
Great course , friendly staff , excellent value for the green fees and the food .
course in great shape
front 9 lots of room off the tee.
fairways and greens are perfect.
back 9 is tighter must be a little straighter
but still excellent condition
Golf now deal. Like others say. A real hidden gem. Staffed by people who obviously enjoy what they are doing .(a Marshall helped me look for a ball). No hesitation to play full price. The greens were like putting on a billiard table.
Only thing that I can detract from the whole day was you don,t return to clubhouse after the 9th hole...straight onto 10.
Already planning to go back. Many times.
All around great course!
Fabulous Course. Starters and Marshalls were conjenial. Had a wonderful time!
The course is in great shape and the price can't be beat! The starter gave us a tip about two of the Par 3 holes that they play longer than they usually would and to take an extra club. With his suggestion: Par on the first, Birdie on the next. Will definitely play again.
Thank you so much for the review and would love to see you back this season!
What an unexpected gem!
First time playing this course, knew nothing about it. I'm a good player and I like a longer course that is challenging. The Meadow Nest blue tees were more than enough for me. Plenty of room off the tee except for a few holes on the back nine. Great layout with a good variety of lengths and doglegs. The course was in fantastic condition tee to green, especially the putting surfaces which were consistent throughout. I played with 2 older players who also raved about the course and really enjoyed it despite being much shorter hitters, so it was fair for all of us. We started at 2 pm and it was not busy. Super friendly, helpful staff and a nice grass range . Didn't try the food. This is an . absolute must play! I would have easily payed twice what I did and still thought it was a bargain. You will thank yourself for booking!

Be sure to play
What a pleasant surprise! I had driven by the signs for this course hundreds of times but had never stopped to play it. I wish I had done so earlier. The course was in excellent shape and although busy, the pace kept us moving along to finish the round in 4.5 hours.
The course is challenging but fair with a very tight back nine in contrast to the open front. The staff was friendly and were visible on the course and the cart girl was around every few holes.
Be sure to give this course a try.

Great conditions
Always worth the money... easy for walking and the conditions are usually perfect. Greens are generally two levels and not that challenging but there are subtle breaks which can drive one crazy at times! Could use some work on drainage after rainfall as it tends to pool up and some work on the cart paths is needed to smooth the ride out a bit.
No Spring Rates
We have been playing the course for yrs, we drive up from Barrie due to lack of value in the Barrie area. The value no longer exists at Hawk Ridge, prices have been increased significantly and no spring rates. The course was in spring condition, fairways were good, greens were hard as a rock, would not accept a shot. Paying full price for these conditions is outrageous, we won't be back.
I like this course
I enjoyed my round for sure. The course was in fine shape. Hope to play here again soon.
