We played Lake/Island today and it was a decent course. I found it a little over priced for the condition. Fairways were dry and got a lot of bounce. They were well maintained bit they need some water. Tee boxes were not very good, very patchy not very level most of them. Greens played nice they were slow and most of them were in good shape. Some Greens were patchy. Pace of play was average. Nice layout to the course some elevation change some do legs and lots of water hazzards on the lake course. Young lad in the pro shop was friendly and the cart lady was nice and was around often. I'd recommend and I'd go back.
Major reduction in maintenance
I’ve played Pakenham frequently over the years but haven’t been back for 5-6 years. With father’s day, we decided to go back since I remembered it as a good track with good value.
How terribly disappointed we were with the lack of maintenance. Under growth is completely out of control, pathways are all falling apart, some of the memorable tee boxes have been decommissioned because of the pack of maintenance and the greens (the most important part of any course) are half dead with either an infestation or lack of growth.
The owners obviously have stopped investing in the course and are just sucking the money out.
With so many other courses to choose from In the Ottawa area, don’t bother with Pakenham. Save your money or pick another course.
Sorry to see the course fall into such condition, what a great layout and such potential.
This was one of our favourite courses in the West Ottawa area in 2014. Conditions of the fairways and greens were first class for the money. However they have made major changes moving from a 27 hole facility to an 18 hole facility in 2015. We played on a beautiful day in September this year and the conditions were fair/poor and the new layout really takes away from the course. It went from one of our favourite courses to one we probably will not return to.
Puzzled by this review. This is still a 27-hole facility.
First time playing this course and we'll be back!!!!!!!!
18 different holes and an Island green on a par 3..
Nice layout and in good condition Well worth the drive.
Well worth the drive!!!
One of the best kept courses we have played all year. Alot of attention has been given to keeping the course in good shape and the grounds are lovely....... Well worth the drive:)
Great course, reasonably priced
Pakenham is a beautiful and challenging course and is a good bang for your buck.
Great course, great area!
3 9 hole courses, all great, varying difficulty with each hole, the terrain has hazards like high rough, running water, lake hazards, I highly recommend the course.
Playing 18, 2 of the 3 courses combined have a slope and course rating if you want to establish or improve your handicap.
Very good condition ths year
Faiways and greens in very good condition. Some broken branches, stc. due to a severe storm the previous day.
great value for the money
course is in great shape and was not overbooked.
only concern was some of the par 3 yardages were seemingly incorrect.
great shape....good value on golfnow
Only one green was rough...the other 17 in great shape. The greens' staff did something right over the winter......in amazing shape for mid June. Played Lake and Island courses.
