Getting Worse
As I outlined in a previous submission, this course used to be in prime condition, regardless of the season, regardless of the weather. Since Golf North has aquired it, this course has and continues to deteriorate. The fairways that used to be immaculate are now scalped and baked hard. The tee boxes are torn up and the bunkers are simply signed "ground under repair" and allowed to become overgrown. The greens were in good condition. The clubhouse staff and starter were friendly and courteous.
Going Down Hill
We have played this course many times over the years and have always found it to be in good condition, even during hot spells. This time we found the fairways sparse and dry. Many of the bunkers were unplayable. This course has a fun and layout with interesting elevation changes. The staff were friendly and engaging. I have read other reviews where the submitter has lamented the fact the Golf North has ruined another course. I had not made this connection personally before now. The condition of this course is deteriorating.
Cobble Hills
Course conditions and greens were very good for the time of year.
All Good with One Exception
This course was in good condition from tee to green with one exception. The bunkers are a mess. It's a moderately challenging layout with some high elevation changes on the final holes. The course is walkable for the most part but the climb on the last holes would be challenging for most golfers. I have played this course many times over the years and it seems to weather hot summer conditions well. If they clean up their bunkers it would be a better than average course.
Convenient and pretty
Narrow fairways, nice water features, rolling hills. Great sandwich. Wish clubhouse offered some healthy snack choices.
Worst time
I normally love playing this course bu a different experience today. Almost all the greens were arrated and two greens could even be played one we didn’t know til we had teed off and hit towards the hole. The next one had a sign that green wasn’t playable. On top of all that we each paid more for the cart than the round. Something wrong with that picture!! I do not live with my friend so we could not share a cart , as is mandated in Ontario during this pandemic. I feel that we were gouged paying so much for a cart.
It was a beautiful day to play golf today but Cobble Hills soured the experience this time.
Enjoyable Course
Loved the course. Interesting layout without being too difficult. Excellent value for the price. Only complaint would be a few of the tee blocks were in rough shape. Highly recommended
great couse
Palyed first time here,, will come back; Tee Boxes at 17 need lot of work; Hole 17 is very picturesque. Had slow group of 4 in front , that is seems to common on weekend golf
Poor condition
I realize this was a low end golf course but the tea boxes were in terrible shape. I had hoped for better
Thanks for yet another comment about our tee boxes. We are working hard to keep up with the excessive traffic and use, and think they are in great shape with all things considering. Some are even being renovated for the betterment of the golfing experience at Cobble Hills.
Tee boxes
Tee boxes were in terrible shape they had not been worked on in months. Even from the blues.
Thanks for your constructive criticism. We have filled divots on our tee boxes weekly, and will continue to do so for the rest of the season. In a year where golf at our course hasn't nearly quardrupled, it seems to be a never ending task.
