Good value
My wife and I have played here numerous times. The course is in decent shape and layout.
The gnats are overwhelming at times, no Marshall to ensure slow players move along, no refreshment cart, and amenities are modest.
Good value, for golf enthusiasts.
Good for a value round
So we played here at the beginning of the year and it was horrible. Fairways and tee boxes were like dandelion fields. Returned because we didn’t experience this in 2023. Was much better this time around. It’s a good course if you don’t want to spend a lot of money and get a practice round in. Layout is nice.
If someone had money to throw into it, it could be a very good course.
Great value for the price!
It was my first time playing at this course. I was surprised by the price, which would only compare to a 9 hole par 3 in the GTA. The course is well maintained (could use some extra love in the greens), the layout is challenging and the natural scenery beautiful.
I sincerely don’t understand why this course is so badly rated online, when it provides everything you can expect from a nice course when visiting Ottawa.
Good for budget golfer
Course was in better condition than when I last played it (6-7-8-9-10 years ago). The fairways used to be VERY hard and the greens were so-so. The fairways were greener and softer, but still mostly crab grass, interspersed with small, patchy, dirt spots throughout. The greens were good, not great. I've always liked the layout. I struggled playing it for the first time in years since it was my first time playing it from the blue tees (my teen son insisted we play the blues rather than the whites for the full 18 holes, even though I faired better than he did). Overall, good value for the money for a budget golfer; if you've been 'spoiled' by playing higher end courses, this may not be the course for you.
Priced accordingly
Course condition is worth the price I paid for. Some fairways need to be cut shorter so it is easier to find the golf balls. I would rather hit on a fairway with less or no grass rather than losing a ball on the fairway. Other than that the course is really nice
Worth playing it again
Except for some grass on fairways that need to be cut shorter I plan to play this course again.
Good course for the money
We’ve been here several times and typically enjoy this course, with the exception of hole #1 and # 2, due a constant swatch of nasty gnats.
Save your money
Conditions were the worst I have ever played on. The fairways were a field of dandelions.
Tee boxes were the same. If I was the owner I would be embarrassed by the conditions.
Needless to say, we will never play there again.
Course closed (snow)
have a tee-off time at Club de golf Vieux-Moulin at Gatineau at 10h27 but the course is close today because the snow. The course will close thuesday. How can receive my money back? Thank you.
Weekday cheap round
Played with a friend. Finished in 2 .5 hrs. Course needs some work but overall I would go back
