Silver Brooke Golf Club
About
Located in Lisle just north of Toronto, Silver Brooke Golf Club is carved out of forests of maples, birches, and pines. The front nine is more heavily wooded than the back nine, which feature more traditional links-style holes. The golf course’s scenic landscape is seeded with blue grass and fescue that nicely contrasts with the white sand bunkers throughout. There are tight fairways and numerous water hazards including several narrow ponds that make accuracy a necessity. Golfers are quickly introduced to the challenges of Silver Brooke Golf Club with a par-5 that seems short but features a tricky narrow fairway, a trap 225 yards out on the right, and an out-of-bounds on the left.

Lovely day golfing
The staff started the day off wonderfully,(friendly, prompt, helpful); the grounds staff took the time to greet us; off the (somewhat chewed up) tee and through the fairways and bunkers (in good shape) the course is moderately challenging; the greens are well kept but challenging to read and putt (undulating calling on skill with the flat blade!). All-in-all an enjoyable time. We will return.
Silver Brooke is a very good place to play golf
Firstly, the dollar value is excellent compared to other courses in the area.
The team running the place were very welcoming and friendly
The layout is very good
The course conditions are good to very good
Carts were in good shape and clean
Greens were tough but fair
Overall it was our first time playing and we will be back
Overall rating would be 4.5 of 5
Patio could be nicer but beer selection was good and cold
course in great condition. excellent value for the price. expected it to be really busy but was a great pace. nice and flat for walking. front nine has some long walks.
Obnoxious Men
The group behind us felt the need to hit into us constantly, at the 6th they shouted a request to play through…I said that a group was playing in front of us, with them barking back “where”.
At the turn I brought their behaviour to the attention of the staff who did speak with them. To also note that we were on pace and there were indeed groups ahead of us. However at 14 they hit into us again. It is a short par 4 and you basically have to let the group leave the green before you hit, which we did. We were not even at the green and these obnoxious men had to press into us further. The game of golf is about honour and these entitled obnoxious men made our round difficult. After we finished the marshal did ask if they smartened up, unfortunately we had to tell him they did not.
It was very nice to see a marshal and staff that did what they could to make it right, but the fact this is becoming common place is disturbing, and it’s always MEN.
50% of the population is women, (women also produce the other 50%) and women make up this games largest growth factor.
Best bang for your buck!
Course was in excellent condition and the staff of extremely friendly and helpful. Strongly recommend!
Bang for your buck
The course has significantly improved since I first played it 10-15 years ago. Specifically the greens, which are fast, relatively challenging and roll true. The course layout is also relatively interesting. Great bang for your buck.
Conditions
Course was in excellent condition despite all the rain we had.
Fun track - good value
Silver Brooke is an enjoyable golf course at a reasonable price. The are some interesting holes where longer hitters will have risk/reward choices. Greens are in good shape ( would be better if golfers fixed their ball marks). Pace of play can be somewhat slow and there aren’t any marshalls to keep pace of play moving.
Overall a nice golf course with challenging holes. Definitely worth playing.
