One of the best mountain course I have ever played.
Amazing course with huge elevation changes. This is one of my all time favorite mountain golf courses anywhere. The views of the mountains are some of the best anywhere. Only negative is that it’s 9 holes.
WONDERFUL
Superb 9-holes, with several tees to choose from for 18 or 27 or 36. Drive there and play and play -- I cannot wait for the full 18. Dramatic views and solid championship golf.
Hole in the wall course
Worth the trip, just as nice as the course in CDA just cheaper. Will hopefully play next time in ID. Loved the elevation and views!
you got to play this course!!
My only wish is that they would finish the back nine. Although playing the front nine twice from different tee boxes is still awesome. This course is impeccable, fairways, greens, rough, sand is all top notch. The elevation Changes are outstanding and the scenery is awesome. Love this course!!
Awesome Course!!
It was extremely hot when we went out and we never expected to finish nine let alone 18. The course is too fun to quit early! It's in great shape and the views are phenomenal. We just wish they had a bar/restaurant, someplace to sit and cool down and have a cold drink. Hopefully they will get to that point. We didn't think we would like playing the same nine holes over again but it was fun to see if we could do better than the last time on each hold. We would highly recommend checking out Galena Ridge at Silver Mountain!
Galena Ridge ... views, views, views !
This course is NOT a walking course. Their logo is of an elk but a mountain goat could work. The distance from green to tee (and tee to fairway in some cases) is considerable and steep. The "cart paths" are gravel and in serious need of grading. That all having been said, I found the course interesting with severe elevation changes and (when I played) a steady, moderate to strong wind. The course itself was in very nice condition with the greens being slower than most mountain courses. Lots of fun, great vistas and a great bargain through GolfNow.
Very fun Course
You may only appreciate this course if you have a sense of backwoods adventure. Compares to a hike into the beautiful mountains with panoramic views and mountain breezes. Never know when you will see elk or moose. Don't forget to select different clubs for changes in elevation. The beer out of the rustic little clubhouse is as cold as from the taps at the courses in town!
A Most Scenic Round of Golf
This is one of the most scenic courses you can play in the Inland Northwest. The course runs up, down and along a mountain ridge line offering outstanding views from every hole. Don't think about trying to walk the course, even 9 holes, unless you are in great physical condition. The course was in outstanding shape. The fairways were well groomed and the greens ran true. But if you can't keep the ball in the fairway, expect to lose a lot of balls in ravines or high grass. The staff was friendly but the amenities leave a lot to be desired. The pro shop is a trailer and the driving range is pitiful. Regular green fees are pricey but you can find discount prices if you shop around. I've played the course a couple of times and I'll be going back.
duffer
course has a natural beauty everywhere you look. in great shape and chalenging all the way. my favorite course
MOUNTAIN HIGH
This is an extremely new mountain course with limited facilities. The fairways and greens are great other than the fairways were too wet. However ,there is no clubhouse, practice green and you are hitting off a mat into the wilderness for a driving range. Mules would be comfortable on some of the switchback gravel cart paths and the elevation changes are dramatic. The views are great and it was fun, but not somewhere that I would play more than once. It is not worth the drive at the prices I paid. However, bring a camera if you go. Not a course for beginners.
Slow play
I have played Galena Ridge numerous time. It is a beautiful course and well maintained. However, on this day there was a five person party that held up the play for numerous players behind them. If Galena Ridge is going to allow fivesomes. They need to prep them to play "ready golf." In addition, if people want to play with five players they should not waste everyone's time looking for balls in the long grass. Also, it is just common courtesy to let faster twosomes play thru. I was frustrated and disappointed this day.
Jim
A great course you will not have any flat lies.Every hole is a new challenge with target golf on each fairway as well as each green poses a new challenge. If you want a scenic course that is a lot of fun to play with new challenges this is your course. This course is in very good shape at this time.
A must play!
What a place. This is a must play, great condition and wonderful views. This is a must play.
Moutain views galor
The most fun of any golf course I have ever played.
Bring your A game.
9 holes
Fun mountain course. Lots of elevation changes. Challenging old carts , wind can blow
check the brakes
Had a wonderful day. Double check the brakes on the cart before you take off.... When they say mountain course..they MEAN it.... good brake are a must. I would not like to walk it & golf...Just walk yes...just golf yes...walk AND golf..NOPE, not for me!
Play Galena Now
Easily one of the best kept secrets in golf in northern Idaho. Being from Spokane, it is a fair bit out of the way, but well worth the drive. Spectacular mountain views, crazy altitude changes throughout the course and stellar course conditions all help make this place very special.
Unique experience
This is the place for a truly unique golf experience. Be sure to bring your own food and drinks. Staff was great. This will challenge you to hit a straight ball. Built on the side of the mountain very few flat areas. Have played before and really enjoy this course. It's only 9 holes so if you don't play well the first round you get to try again.
Galena in may
Breathtaking views, challenging course. I love this course. I have played it three times now and have had a great experience each time. I am excited to see if they ever expand the course to 18 holes. There is not another course like galena in this area or perhaps the world. I tell all my friends and fellow golfers to go play this course and enjoy the day. My group of friends has played it twice on the last day of the season, but this year we played it in may and will be back a few more times. If you havent played it, get out to kellogg and you will be happy that you made the short trip over the mountains.
good example of a mountain course
great place to spend a nice sunny day , with views to match.
Bring an extra sleeve of balls, don't even bother to look.Try Shoshone for a mature mt. course.
GREAT COURSE. Drive up and play it so it stays in business.
