Willows Run Golf Club - Eagle's Talon Course

About
Willows Run Golf Club has something for every golfer with two 18-hole links courses, a nine-hole, par-3 course, and a "themed" putting course that draws inspiration from courses in four different climate zones. Located in the Sammamish River Valley, there are stunning views of Mount Rainier to the south. Eagle's Talon is one of the 18-hole, championship courses. With four sets of tees, the golf course appeals to a wide range of skill levels. The links-style course is challenging but fair, with strategically placed bunkers and rough. Water also has a prominent presence, with the Sammamish River running alongside the two championship courses. The river is home to several runs of salmon and trout and it also attracts a variety of birds including ducks and blue herons.

I got a good time.
I have a good run of golf. Wish able to do it again.
Willow runs golf course
The course has a poor drainage system; fairways felt like I was walking in a swamp. Besides that, the course would probably be better during the summer.
Coyote Creek in the fall
The addition of leaf drop ads to the challenge of not losing your ball on this standard links course that plays consistently year around.
excellent value for the money
challenging course -- much harder than Coyote Creek (the other 18 here). highly recommended, and great value in the fall!
Good course fro the $
This was my first round here and it was fun. Plenty of trouble for errant shots, but aren't all courses like that? The staff was friendly. Ended up pairing with others toward the end as things slowed down, but all golfers we met were friendly and pleasant. It was pretty easy to lose a ball in the rough, and naturally the hazards so bring enough balls.
Review of willows run
Twilight is good value(15pm start is best timing in this time)
Please try it.
Willow's Run - Eagle's Talon
course conditions were good, overcast but no rain. greens and fairways were in good condition. Couple t-boxes were a little lumpy causing a second to choose a suitable area to tee off. Narrow fairways with a lot of OB areas along them, so have to be accurate with drives and longer irons. Pace of play was a little hurried but not worrisome.
Great place to play for those looking for a challenging course.
BEAUTIFUL COURSE
BEAUTIFUL COURSE = GREAT VIEWS OF WILDLIFE = WONDERFUL DAY WITH MY BEST FRIEND.
Average at best
Frustrating to get out there at 3pm and they let 3 2somes go in a row....then a really slow 4some...then 2 more 2somes. We were one of the lucky 2some behind the 4some, with open holes in front of them. I told the course marshall on the 2n hole that I could tell this was going to be a problem. He went back and asked the 4 some to let us go through if there was space in front of them. He said on the 3rd or 4th hole they would let us through......never saw him again and we finally played through on the 16th hole. Never saw the marshall rest of day. That sort of stuff happens out there almost everytime I play there. It's not difficult to just pair up groups! Not rocket science. Greens were super slow for mid august. Easy to just 2 putt everything.
Good round on a lucky day
We got lucky to play with no rain in the middle of a rainy week. $17 to walk was great. Not too crowded pace of play moving smoothly...course in good condition aside from a few damp spots...overall exceeded expectations
25 Degrees but Sunny!
This is probably one of the very few courses in the Seattle/Western Washington area that doesnt require you to play temp greens when it gets cold. We played all 18 greens, even though they were frozen. There goose dropping EVERYWHERE, but I guess that's something that the course management can't really control. There's a resident coyote on #14 of Eagles Talon. I guess she roams around that area, looking for food from golfers and is no threat to us. Just hungry and wanting an energy bar or two. :)
Overall, the course was good, considering it was below freezing the entire round and no temp greens. This is the only course that covers their greens overnight with a tarp to protect against the weather.
Awful everything
Awful tee boxes. Awful fairways. Awful bunkers. Awful greens. About the only thing that wasn't awful was the cart paths.
They aerated the greens and tee boxes but no sand anywhere. When you hit a putt, it bounced worse than rolling your ball down a 2x4. Of course no warning from the clubhouse. They took our full green fee money and smiled while knowing they were ripping us off.
Additionally, I've never had to clear goose feces out of the way of a putt. There were at least 12 turds in my way between my 9 foot putt and the hole.
Avoid at all costs. Money is better well spent on a putt putt course.
Decent course if you don;t mind spending your entrie day there.
Not quite sure why they employ marshalls at Willows given they don't ever improve pace of play. They need to either stagger the teetimes further apart or force everyone to take carts. Having some walk and some ride slows things down on the weekends to a crawl. Having to wait 20 minutes on every shot sure does remove the rhythym.
Slow but pleasant
For one of the better inner city courses that gets a lot of play, Willows Run Eagles Talon is kept in very good shape and is fun for the average golfer. My only complaint is that on several holes we waited more than 15 minutes between finishing on one green and teeing off on the next hole. I feel they could have done a better job of either scheduling tee times with more space between or regulating pace of play by monitoring the slower groups.
Good golf...but slow
We thought that a twosome at 9am on a Thursday would play in at least 4 hours...but, no! After an 2 hr and 40 min front nine (with the first 3 holes taking a full hour) it was a long day. The golf was good, though. We saw a few brown spots, but the greens were in good shape and rolled pretty good. The on-the-course customer service guy was very nice and explained that it would be a long round, then offered us free ice cold waters - twice! It was a hot and humid day so it was appreciated. We played the Talon course and you can definitely score here. The key is to hit the landing areas and control the second shot..duh! Good track, just slow...since this isn't my only time playing here I knew it would be slow...always is.
played from black tee. very challenging and had great weather for golf. Course was in great condiion and the price was fantastic.
Very challenging from the BLACK tee. The course was in great shape and we had fantastic day for golf.
Overpriced and slow.
If you want to pay too much and play slow this is the course for you. If the pace of play was better I would have been somewhat happier the price. However, they crammed way too many players on the course so it made for a miserably slow round.
Easily walkable. Very slow play. Over rated
Not worth the normal fees. And, golfnow fees are getting to be a bit much.
Some fun holes
Flat course some fun holes to play very busy on weekends
course is conveniently located.
It turns out yesterday was a once a year KJR day, 50%. Great value!
