Senile ranger is a piece of garbage
We were a group of 10 and we played in 3 separate groups for the front 9. Due to the course not being busy, we tried to do 2 groups of 5 on the back 9 and the ranger would not allow it. Also, there was a group of 6 in front of us and they didn't get talked to. We understand if it was busy but there was not any groups anywhere near us and we were keeping pace. He literally stalked us for the rest of the round. We ended up splitting back up and at the end, we waited for the last group to finish. He came up to us, telling us we needed to hurry up and get the carts back. There were plenty of carts and there were no parties waiting for them. That old man really needs to get a life and find some real problems on the golf course.
An excellent early season course to shake off the cob webs
We like it here. Make the drive from Boston a few times a year, not bad about 45 minutes. We like to get out here early in the season because it is good value and the course is forgiving, but forces you to make shots.
All Par 3s are reachable and the Par 5s will force most hitters to manage and get there in 3. I put the driver away on the front 9 and do not bring it out until the stretch of Par 4s and 5s on the late back 9.
What keeps me coming back is the experience I have with the staff. They have been absolutely nothing but wonderful and accommodating and always welcome me back specifically when hearing we made the drive from Boston.
I tell my friends about this place and take them here early in every season; and we usually make the trip back out during peak once or twice.
Great course for the average golfer
You will find well maintained greens and fairways here.
Management has put their dollars where it matters.
Several challenging par 5's and an island par 3, Number 8.
A great course for any golfer. The staff is super friendly as well!
Course wasn’t that bad. Some interesting holes, like 8 and 9..greens were in good shape and rolling quick.Tee boxes need some work but over all not bad for $63.Freindly staff
Nice layout but tee boxes were a mess
Loads of potential nice course but not kept real well. As mentioned tee boxes were half sand half grass some brown on a few greens but overall good course. Lots of groups of one or two so we were waiting a bit.
Shotmakers welcomed
Granite Fields requires the ability to hit every type of shot. There's several water hazards and lateral hazards that make you use every club in your bag at some point. Plenty of chances to use driver off the tee, but often that will put you in an awkward position for your second shot. For the price, Granite Fields is an excellent deal. Definitely not a lush perfect setting, but if you want to practice your game and work on different shots and get around fairly quickly oh, you can certainly do that.
Getting tired
I have been playing this course for years. Although the grass at the course is it in decent shape, the other amenities are getting tired. Many golf ball cleaning stations are broken, or no towels to dry the ball.
Friendly staff... worth the trip
Great course, great staff. Back 9 is my favorite. Challenging but open. Some of the tee boxes and greens were a little worn but not bad.
Thanks to the owner for making us feel welcomed and not rushed. Great easy-going staff.
Worth the drive from Boston.
Nice place to play a round of golf
Interesting course layout. Very friendly staff and good value.
Nice course, but they do not like Golf Now
I live near this course and play it a couple of times per year. The layout is god and the course is usually well cared for.
I the last couple of times I’ve played here I was able to catch a Hot Deal. It is obvious that the management of the course does not like this and it shows in the way they treat you. They have made comments in the past, with a smirk, but they most aggravating thing is that they will not allow you to even load your clubs on to a cart until 5 minutes before your tee time. It does not matter when you check in, they will hold the cart slip until 5 minutes before and make you come back to the office to get them.
Now I like to show up a little early, so that I am not rushed. Remove the covers, take what I need from my bag, and then spend a few on the practice green. This ridiculous policy makes it impossible. By the time you can finally get your cart and load your bag, you need to rush down to the first hole which is a 5 minute drive away from the office.
Golf Mow should drop this course.
Great
The course is in great shape the greens were slower than they looked.
Great Value
I read a lot of reviews that were rather negative especially pertaining to the staff, so I was skeptical. But, as they say, play everywhere once. Plus, I got a hot deal at the right time so... Why not? The clubhouse was nice, but didn't have the ammenities of most courses. Staff was friendly (in spite of the reviews). Out cart was fine but the other cart for our tee time was.... Shotty to say the least. Course layout was awesome, and the water hazards were especially nice. The greens were great and the fairways were good. The pace is a little slow and there are a lot of par 5s and long par 4s, so be sure to budget plenty of time (4-5 hours) for 18. Make sure you bring water out on the course (no water out there), but they remind you of this and supply bottles at the clubhouse. The beer girl was very efficient and I had to say "I'm good" half of the times she came around. All and all great course, friendly staff, okay ammenities, and great value. I will be back!
Great course
Course is in amazing shape from the fairways to the greens. Drains well. Very consistent. Always have fun here.
Drunk starters.
The starters are drunk and very unorganized they favor regular players and put 6 walkers in front of me. Golf course is in decent shape but the drunkards got to go management must be worse.
