PLAY THE RIGHT TEES
Ok
all 3 of these courses are awesome. I've been a member for a while, and may for the rest of my life. The only thing I can say: PLAY THE RIGHT SET OF TEES. I know, if you are with a friend that is better than you, it may seem tempting to show off by playing the same tees or further. First of all, you can bet/compete even if on different tees. Second of all, the tees are extremely different in terms of challenge. The max possible handicap as you know is 54. I need you to hear me out, please listen. You will have more fun. IF YOUR HANDICAP IS ABOVE 36 PLAY THE LADIES TEES. (RED). I don't care if you are a man, or lady. if above 45 do not play the Bog. If you are 25-36 play the greens, 18-25 play the whites, 9-18 play the blues. +3-9 play the Black. I know that might seem crazy. If you are a +3 you are used to playing the tips, but especially on Bend and Bog, I highly reccomend the Black. On Bay, play tips if you are better than scratch.
Nice private course, but gimmicky
Willowbend is a private course with three 9's (Bay, Bend and Bog), each with very different designs. Greens were in great shape. Course a bit too gimmicky for me. For example, first hole has huge pine tree dead center of fairway 220 yards out. 4th hole is like trying to hit a sidewalk off the tee. 3rd, 6th and 8th holes take driver out of your hands due to layout. Interesting, but a bit contrived for me. Critical to play the right tees for your handicap.
Always a great take
20th Annual Michael Asselton Barnstable Police Tournament always a great take, great weather, great course, great food, great people and it's nice to win it two years in a row.
