Prairie Golf Oasis

Cypress Hills Golf Course is a hidden gem located within the Cypress Hills Provincial Park in southeastern Saskatchewan. Unlike the surrounding bald prairie, this course is nestled in a beautiful forest of lodgepole pine trees, offering a unique and scenic golf experience.

The 9-hole, 3362-yard course was in excellent condition, thanks to recent rains. It's a well-designed track with plenty of challenge for golfers of all skill levels. The course winds its way through rolling hills and valleys, and while the fairways are generous, wayward shots can easily get lost in the dense woods.

The tee boxes were well-kept but could use some leveling. The greens were large, receptive, and had subtle undulations that required careful putting. Notably, the absence of any bunkers or water hazards makes for a fast-paced round, allowing you to focus on the natural challenges of the terrain.

The clubhouse and pro shop are small but charming, providing basic supplies and food. While I didn't see a practice area, I was told a driving range and putting green are available.

Overall, I highly recommend playing this course. It's a great choice for a day trip, and you can easily pair it with a round at the nearby Maple Creek course for a full day of golf.
