Pleasantly surprised!
We booked the round for 11 bucks on Golf Now not realizing it was a 9-hole course until we got there. 1.5 hr. drive from the house, we assume some farmer dug nine holes strategically in his cow pasture to make ends meet during these rough economic times. Not the case at all!
Both the tee boxes and greens were very well kept. Fairways were a bit thicker than usual due to the heavy rains recently in the area. Typical Texas-friendly staff. Took us 4 hrs to complete and would have made it sooner but the combination of heat, humidity, and an inordinate amount of flies drained us. Great little hidden getaway spot when escaping the madness of San Antonio.
Fun Course
Very friendly staff, make you feel welcomed. The local golf scene is great and friendly as well. Very well kept course and a nice mix of par 3's to par 5's.
Extremely Un-Welcoming
Pro-shop manager attempted to have me pay for carts despite the golf now time including carts. He was visibly upset and expressed that Golf Now tee times are a rip off for their club and they lose money. He stated they would be leaving golf now and that they didn’t want people getting discounts. Went out of his way to make sure we knew he was unhappy.
Exceeds expectations by a wide margin
What a great little golf course! Fairways and greens, while slow, were in great shape. Greens are very interesting, with some wild contours and difficult falloffs. Played 9 in one hour flat. Worth checking out.
