Luling Golf Club

About
Practice your fade, or even a slice, before your big round at the 9-hole Luling Golf Club, since the first five holes have out-of-bounds to the left and plenty of open spaces to the right. “Setting up well for a fade” is an understatement to say the least. This flat course has a few water hazards and bunkers on seven of nine holes. Despite its short length, it is a surprisingly tough challenge.
The most notable hole is No. 7. It plays around 340 yards from either set of tees, the river on the left cuts into the fairway, and you’ll need a solid drive of around 200 yards to carry it.
Two sets of tees allow for an 18-hole round, and they’re nice enough to allow you to pay once and play all day.
Getting there : Take the Luling exit to the north from I-10, cross the San Marcos River, and the course is on the right.
