Zoysia Grass First
First time on Zoysia. Different lie and feel. Used to northern bent, rye, bluegrass. Enjoyed it very much. Course is a hidden gem. Was in town for an event and had some extra time. Got out early and got around in under 3 hours. Worth the short drive from Evansville to play.
a great course
everything was in great shape at the course the day we played the greens was in great shape fairway and rough was mowed good they was preparing the course for a college tournament that weekend and they had the pins in some tough pin placement love the course keep up the good work
Wonderful.
Great course. Reminds me of the Dye course at French Lick or the Kampen course at Purdue. Playing for the first time, it’s easy to picture the shot that is required. Great pace and outstanding condition. Ball sits up like on a tee in the fairway. Play it. You won’t be disappointed.
Cambridge golf course
Best greens and fairways in southern Indiana. Play took 4 hours and the weather was nice. Halfway house was open for drinks and brats, great course to play!
Great conditions!
The course conditions, other than the sand traps, are perfect! The fairways, tee boxes and greens are in perfect condition but the greens could use a touch more speed. Many of the traps need to be filled in and eliminated.(I believe that is being accomplished by neglecting them. I believe that filling them in and sowing grass seed might be a better answer. The course stays interesting with the many pin positions that are used and their plenty of tee boxes that should suit any golfers abilities. A Great Course!
Fantastic condition
This course has always been in good condition but this year has been fantastic. The fairways are mown tight and the contours around the green are striped for better visibility. The tee boxes are perfect too. Greens are sometimes slow but with the undulations, that’s not always a bad thing. Pace of play is better during the week than weekends. Played in a 3some today in 3.5 hours.
Excellent links style course
Carved out of a hillside in the outer suburbs of Evansville, Cambridge is a wonderful dish of links golf. Native grass hills flank the holes and over ten bodies of water provide plenty of challenge. The wind always blows. Great shape throughout. Bustling. Top notch club house. It’s among our groups favorite in southern Illinois. Great value.
booking
Didn,t like it because you can,t cancel in amergery
great shape
the course was in great shape we went out before a tournament that day the greens was a little slow but was expected in hot weather was a little slow at the start but picked up pretty quick overall a great day
Good course
I have enjoyed playing Cambridge since it opened. Course is well manicured with plush fairways and tee boxes. The greens are in great shape but tend to be a tad slow. The one thing that is a negative for me is the thick heather areas of the rough. While I realize you should keep the ball in the fairways, the heather makes it nearly impossible to find or play your ball. The result is a slower pace of play with some novice and/or inconsiderate players tromping around in the thick rough looking for a ball. for 5 - 10 minutes. If you happen to be in a group trailing 2 or 3 groups that are exhibiting this behavior, you will be lucky to finish faster than 4 1/2 hours. Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful. Specifically, I would single out Shane as an excellent ambassador for the course. He goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The dining area is very nice and with good staff and good food. Banquet area is a comfortable area with round tables that make it easy for conversation with 6 - 8 people.
Tough Course, A lot of fjn
Great conditions, great everything to be honest. Challenging, but a lot of fun.
Great greens
Considering the amount of water they have dealt with course in great shape
