Was pleasantly surprised by this private club. Searches on the web for info and pictures did not do it justice. In person, Oak Meadow shines, thanks to a narrow, tree-lined routing that offers short, scoreable par 4s.
Tight driving corridors, particularly throughout the back nine make scoring difficult.
The par 5s are quirky, particularly the fifth and 15th. Not sure I am a big fan of the hole design on 15. Maybe if I had a chance to play it a few more times, but I’m not sure what the architect sought from a player off that tee box. It is a 90-degree dogleg right up a steep hill. With the tee box shoved up against the tree-lined right side and a lake running the length of the left, you really have no option except to hit a cut. Would like to see a little more flexibility off the tee for options.
Conditioning was stellar.
Amazing
Best course i have ever played at. Play almost every day with my friends.
Great course design
Great course set up with moderate amount of water and lots of sand bunkers around the large greens make accuracy a premium. 2 of the greens showed a small amount of damage , but overall condition of the course was excellent.
