About
Hit ’em straight, bring your short game, and get ready for some testy up-and-downs. This 9-hole track is lined with pine trees and in excellent condition, but the dominating feature is the miniscule, elevated, mound-shaped greens. The design offers simplicity, with straight holes that can make it seem like you’re playing the same hole over and over again. The pessimist will say it’s a boring course, while the optimist will rave about the opportunity to work on your game on this simple course with tricky greens.
Getting there : From Bryan-College Station, take Hwy. 6 north to Wheelock Rd. Turn east and continue to Norwood Ln.. Turn north and the course is straight ahead.

A Hidden Gem & How Golf Should Be Played
I found HMGC about 16 months ago and have played it 25-30 times. Great 9 hole course with 2 set of tee boxes to play18 if you care to. Tee boxes and fairways range from a 7.5 to 10 depending on the time of the year. All or most all greens are elevated so you live & die with your approach shots. I give the greens a 7.5 to 9. They don't blow after mowing and some mornings you will find a little excess grass on the greens. Coures generally plays in 1 to 1.5 hrs for 9 and 2.5 for 18. Great bang for the buck that get little play other then the locals who keep carts thier.
