Golfer Reviews
Rough shape
Could be a nice course if it were taken care of at all. Greens were long with half dead apots and lots of weeds. Rough hadn't been mowed in weeks. Tre boxes were rough and unlevel. Golf cart didn't work that well.
TRASH GREENS
This course was by far the worst course maintenance I've ever seen. Every green was like shag carpet with some sand spots in the middle of the greens. Heck some of them had some rough in them. Never have played on anything like that ever. TRASH GREENS. Only thing good about the hour drive it took me to get there was I got a hole in one.
In much better condition than 2025.
$28 for 18 holes w/cart was a great deal using Golf Now hot deals to prepay. Eagles Bluff has one of the best layouts and beautiful bluff topography of any course within 75 miles of STL. The Zoysia fairways are thick and easier to hit off of than tall fescue or kentucky bluegrass. The greens were a little rough on certain holes, but they are treating the brown patch bare spots with fungicide. Speaking of the greens, they were soft and receptive – well watered. Only downside was they were super long and shaggy, so this day putting was inconsistent and difficult. We received one of the new electric golf carts. They are reliable and very comfortable. Overalll Eagles Bluff gets a 7.5/10 rating from us, with challenging but beautiful topography leading the way.
Very scenic course in good shape
Overall the course was in very good shape. The greens have pretty well recovered from last summer’s heat damage. There were a number of workers fertilizing and mowing, and one repairing a sand trap, on the day I played. It is a very scenic course with great views from the top of the bluff. It has many fun and challenging holes, including a 600+ yard par 5.
Bad
We drove an hour to get here because we heard it was a really nice course. Wrong! there were rows of mowed grass all over the greens making putting very difficult. If you don't hit the green, you might as well pull another ball out because you aren't finding yours in the 6 inch rough. If by some miracle you do find you ball there is no hitting it out. There are also several water hazards that are not visible when hitting your shot.
Hidden gem
Outside of the area. Perfect pace of play. If you’re expecting a high end golf course this isn’t your place. We had lot of fun playing and good scenery . Def be back again
MUCH better than previous years
Three years ago this course was virtually unplayable. What a 180° turnaround for the staff and the course! The course has always had a beautiful layout and some very challenging holes. The greens are in great shape this year and the zoysia fairways are coming in like carpet. Pace of play is always good but unless you're a low handicapper, bring lots of balls because the course has a lot of water in play. #16 is a spectacular par 3 and their signature hole. Highly recommend!
Great course!
Beautiful layout! Greens are like walking on carpet, but putt at a “normal” speed. Will be playing here again
