Jacksboro Country Club
About
The Jacksboro CC, which dates back to the 1920s, is an old course that rolls through some hills and offers water hazards on only two holes. The 9 holes play to a par 35, and it’s a stout 3,397 yards from the blue tees. The only par 5 is the opener, going 525 yards, but the remaining par 4s are all mostly long and challenging, including the 480-yard 2nd hole. The best birdie opportunities here are the par 3s: short irons from the whites, long irons from the blues, but really no major problems if you strike it well.
Getting there : From Fort Worth, take Hwy. 199 west, then turn right on Hwy. 148 and head directly to the course.

One of the worst golf courses in the US.
Place is terrible. Greens are dead and the fairway blends in with the rough. The tee boxes are dead and have so many divots in them. I’m not sure I’ve seen a 450yd par 5 tee box with so many divots. I’d never go back there.
Really wide open easy 9 hole course with secondary boxes for 10-18
Had a good time only people on the course, wide open and easy so you don’t lose many balls lol, nothing crazy but excellent for price.
Terrible condition
This course should not be open. They are redoing all the holes and the condition of the course is awful.
Worst course I’ve ever played
Not sure what happened…there is no way we should have had to pay to play here. Not sure when they decided to stop watering, the course was completely dead, the only green grass was about 3sq ft around the hole. Very disappointed this course is actually on golf now…crazy!
Very Dry
Course was burnt up from a water problem a couple of months ago. I would not recommend playing even for a very low price. Course should close for a month or so and try to get as much water in it as possible.
Great value.. Fun course
New ownership, greens are coming along nicely!. I will definitely be coming back!
GREAT VALUE
Best experience for the price by far! Great staff, driving range and love the layout it's a good confidence building course for all skill levels. Will keep coming back for years to come!
Gem of a deal
Fluffy slow greens and forgiving fairways. Texas heat hasn't won yet. I'll go back again.
Jacksboro's Finest
Great fun course, it's 9 holes with most holes having 2 spots to play from at different yardages. Very friendly staff. They have other amenities like pool and a bar for the regulars.
Decent Course
Decent course for the area. Course was well kept & the staff was fantastic. Carts were great, beverages & snacks were very reasonable. Greens were very slow but rolled true. Fairways were mostly weeds/crab/dallis grass but mowed well. Hard to compare it to more plush courses but good value if you are in the area.
Lots of Changes...All for the Better!
I've played this course probably 20 times over the past 10 years. This past round was the first time that made me want to go back as soon as I can! The course is under new management. They have changed the routing (old #4 is now #1) and have made a great effort to improve the fairways, roughs, and greens. All greens are now smooth and in great shape. They are also harder to putt because now that they are in great shape, the slopes actually come into play. The bunkers are still a little rough, but you can no longer say that this course is just a "goat track". I can not say enough about how much I enjoyed my round early Saturday. The course is moderately priced and the pace of play was great (I played nine holes w/a cart in 1:15). #5 (old #2) is and will always be my favorite hole. I am really appreciative of the new management improving the conditions of Jacksboro CC. If you are in the area or passing through, go play this now hidden gem! I can't wait to go back!
