Ward County is an 18-hole public layout's claim to fame is that Kathy Whitworth, LPGA Hall of Famer, learned the game here. With more hills than you might expect for this desert region, this track has a nice variety of holes. Big, dangerous water hazards are sprinkled about the course. The par 3s are extremely tough, and the greens vary in size. Pay attention to your club selection when the wind is blowing.
Over the years this facility has gained a reputation of continuously being in poor condition; however, a new management team took over in the late 1990s, and they have made significant strides in improving the quality of the course.
Getting there : Located 2 miles north of town on Hwy. 18.
