Built by Leon Howard around 1970, Lakewood is the hub of a retirement community. More of a traditional layout, the design incorporates a 30-acre lake that impacts play, and the large greens are tough because of the subtle undulations. Pay once and play all day.
Getting there : From I-20 west, take Hwy 183 north. Travel 20 miles to Rising Star and head east 5 miles. Turn right at the course sign.
