Tee Time Syncing
We’ve been going to Oak Crest every week since July and thoroughly enjoy the course, and have reviewed it before. The reason for the one star rating this time is that the policy of booking on GolfNow goes not seem to be synced with special events and tournaments that occur there for members. Twice we have chosen tee times offered on GolfNow that put us in the middle of an ongoing tournament. This particular time was a scramble, in which 8 players at a time were playing each hole, which slowed play down considerably. Luckily, it was in the afternoon and they all finished up after about 5-6 holes and all left at the same time, leaving no one in front of us for the rest of our round. When we arrived that day for out 1:38 tee time, booked from GolfNow, the person in the clubhouse simply said to us, “You know there’s a tournament going on today…”, which leads us to believe there’s not enough communication between the electronic booking system and the people who are actually manning the facility. To us, that doesn’t go along with otherwise friendly, inviting, neighborhood feel of this public course.
Overall, good course for a great price
This is a very nice course with enough challenges to keep you on your toes! We’ll be back to enjoy it in the fall.
Oak Crest is a great value!
This course is in great condition! Lush fairways, superb greens, great maintenance—all in a beautiful north woods setting. It’s our third time playing in three weeks, and we’d like to play it more than once a week. Best golf value in the area by far.
Tee boxes, fairways and greens were in awesome shape. The only negative is the slow pace of play. Great value for your money. Just had some very slow foursomes out in front.
First Time on Course
Most of the holes are straight ahead making the layout fairly uninteresting. A couple of scenic par threes and definitely a walkable course which is a big plus.
4 out of 5
Nice course decent amount of challenges, staff is always helpful and nice....really the only complaint is the tee box and rough grass has been a bit long this year compared to last.
