Unbelievable
The management has private parties when there are no guests and do as they please. Let their friends stay and party for free. They think that they own the place and brag about they can do whatever they want because no one will know. They leave their mess for their slave driven workers to clean up. I think that the real owners need to really look into what is going on behind their back.
Texas golf Xanadu
We had the chance to spend the day at Wolf Point Ranch with the golf course architect Mike Nuzzo, and it was a very special treat. This private estate course is the centerpiece of a 1,600-acre ranch near Port Lavaca and it's a wonderfully Scottish inspired layout, full of rumbling, dry fairways and big greens. Nuzzo built the course for Al Stanger to have a lot of flexibility and playability to it. There was a nice breeze the day we played and I really enjoyed using the ground and feeling shots into and with the wind.
I was expecting a marvelous and mythical Texas golf experience and I got it. What I didn't expect was that there is a small but comfortable clubhouse, a private runway large enough to land commercial aircraft, and camels. Camels? Yes. This place is something else. I hope when the property is sold, the owners make it more available to those avid golfers willing to make the visit.
