Opened in 2022, the North Course starts and finishes on the Ocean. The 18-hole, par 71 golf course has been designed as a traditional walking links golf experience. Designed by Tom Doak, the same designer as sister course, Tara Iti (ranked #20 in the world), you can expect the North Course near the top of its class. Playing very differently than the South Course, with more inland golf and unique green shapes, we will let you decide which is your favourite.

Great Young Course

Although only a couple of years old, this course has a lot of maturity, even better than Doak's St Patrick course in Ireland. It has an interesting mix of oceanside and inland holes as well as a great variety of distances and directions. I used every club in my bag. The greens are challenging, and my caddy Jason was invaluable. Be sure to stay two days to play both courses.

Epic Doak Course

How Doak managed to come up with this design through the pine tree forest is unbelievable. Whilst the newer of the Te Arai courses I think this course will overtake South in world rankings.

Slope ratings off the tips at 127 is misleading and requires re-rating.

Couple holes where the manufactured protection of the greens making them very blind on short chips is unusual.

Some really special holes.
