Great 1st Impression
The addition of Scarecrow truely makes Gamble Sands a destination for the vacation golfer, 36 holes of great fescue links golf that tests you in was you’re glad it did! The staff are utterly splendid and treat you with class right from the parking lot to the cart drop. It’s expensive (too much so for a yearly trip for a Canadian - our dollar sucks), but it makes a great and memorable one in a few years adventure. The layout is fantastic, fun, and most of all beautiful.
All hail the Scarecrow
Scarecrow - the new DMK design at Gamble Sands - should immediately wow golfers when it opens next August. The ground game featuring kick points, humps and bumps for funneling shots into the greens that makes the original course so popular are back and better than ever. The land rises and falls more dramatically on this side of the property with amazing views out to the Columbia River. Ending on a drivable/short par 4 is never a bad idea. Letting your golfers walk off with par, or even birdie, sends them straight to the 19th hole to celebrate.
