Brandywine Country Club

Although I live close to Brandywine CC I never played the course due to the fact that it was previously a private track. I gave it a go this past week as I really enjoying paying an course that I'm unfamiliar with. What a disappointment. The course itself was a challenging traditional course but the conditions were horrendous. From the tee boxes to the greens and everywhere in between the course was horrendous. If I ever decide to return which is highly unlikely I will depend on reading current reviews

Have played a number of times over the past few years but was extremely surprised at the poor conditions yesterday. I understand they are working on it so I'll check in again next summer to see if they make progress - a long way to go in my opinion. $19 deal including cart made it bearable, but I'll still wait a while.

Even though for some reason I still enjoy playing here (maybe because I only play if its around $20) the course is in poor condition. Every tee box is 90% bare. There's a green with a small Sandtrap in the middle of it (not purposely). Greens aren't nice, they have cracks in them, grass patches, I think only one I remember was average (hole 9 if I'm not mistakenly
). Fairways are 40% bare etc. Last time my cart got stuck in the mud in the beginning of one fairway.

Go here only if it's $25 or less.. just being honest. Anything more is not worth it. I played Del Castle a few days later and that's in much better shape, which is saying something.

Looked like it USED to be a very nice course with a great layout and nice facilities however it looks like the ownership is not putting a dime into maintenance.

I been playing golf for over 20 years and never played a course this bad. There was no grass on the tee boxes, fairway where in terrible shape, some fairways where longer then the rough and other fairways where bare. Green where in terrible shape. And they want to charge 40 dollars to play. This course should be forced to close until its in better condition.

This golf course looks completely abandoned. I will never play there again.

Bare fairways in many spots. Dead tees. "Recovering" greens. Rough is a snarly mess.

Looks ready for a developer to buy it and put in houses.

I played here three weeks ago and thought the course was done. Greens were awful. Tees were dirt. I was told then that they were going to start improving very soon. I was hopeful but very doubtfulfull. I picked up a hot deal there yesterday for 14 bucks. Still some dirt tee boxes but I would just move my tee to a grassy spot. Not nearly as bad as 3 weeks ago. The greens weren't unblemished but they were so much better than they were from before. They rolled pretty good. The grounds crew is watering again and it is definitly on the right path to getting back to where it was. Still a long way to go ,but I think they will get there

What a shame. I haven't played here for 15 years and I remember it to be a really well condition, good golf course. The course is still good but I have never seen a course I this bad of condition that wasn't closed and abandoned. I hope it makes a come back and I'll go back and play but the way it is now is not really golf.

I'm sure this course was nice at one time. Now it looks like they have done nothing for 10 years to maintain it. They should just close up if they don't want to do any maintenance

I have never seen a course in such poor condition. Last played iit in summer of 2014 at which time it was in fair condition. What a difference a year makes. Course is supposedly under new ownership that intends to resurrect it next year. I would not recommend playing it until it is in playable condition. It really should not even be open for play. Tee boxes are primarily dirt, half the fairways are comprised of dirt and the rough is primarily weeds and crab grass. Greens are patchy and very bumpy. Also on one of the greens there was a fecal log plopped right by the hole. Unbelievable!

The conditions at this course are the worst I’ve ever seen, at any course, completed neglected. This course is currently unplayable! Most of the playing areas were void of grass. Areas that did have grass were overgrown. A majority of the greens were diseased, beat-up, and riddled with goose waste. There wasn't a single tee box with grass. No notice was given at the time of booking or during payment at the pro shop as to the current poor conditions. I was extremely disappointed!

Charged us 45 dollars. The course apparently is closing after this season and being replaced with a development and it shows. There are cracks, literally cracks on the green, dead and crab grass as well. No such thing as a fairway on any hole. No grass on any tee box. Just horrible. I get it was 40 dollars but that wasn't even a course. It was just awful.

Non-existent or invisible yard markers make every shot after tee shot a guessing game. Tee boxes all horrible condition. Some greens bad as well. It was inexpensive which is best thing I can say.

I am sorry to say this was the worse golf course I ever played in my 25 years of golf . No grass on tee boxes or fairways ,greens where cracking from being dry and six inch weeds around greens . There was workers on movers but they looked like they where sleeping not cutting . will never play at this course again .

We paid for 18 holes and just quit and went home after 9 holes since the course was in such terrible shape.

This could be a beautiful and great course to play, if anyone gave half a darn about it. This place has been neglected and the conditions are terrible. Teeboxes of dirt with holes in it, greens with divots, dead spots, cracked dirt and mow marks. Dead branches lying around on the rough everywhere. The only good thing about playing here was that apparently word has gotten around how bad it is, so you can play 18 in less than 3 hours because noone wants to play there. Really is too bad, the clubhouse is quite nice and the course layout is good.

This used to be a good track. Great location, great fun. Now, you can't consider it a golf course. The land has been sold so they just let it go. Gonna miss playing there. Save your mone .

What happened? This used to be a nice track. Hardly any players, most likely due to conditions. Total drought has ruined this place. Will take a couple of years to get back to a condition for play. Never seen cracked greens till yesterday..
No need to mow grass doesn't grow. C'mon man do something before this becomes a housing development. Even the pool was empty and it was 90 degrees.
