A little disappointed
I have played rock manor a couple times before this past tee time. It’s very nice course the only thing is no one fixes their bark marks on the green. And I get it some people are lazy, but for $100 a round every singe green from 1-18 looked like there was a direct hail storm above each green. It was honestly disappointing, I can’t blame it all on the greens crew they do a great job on the course but the green is super important and it seems like the people that play it have no respect for the course. I hope that this changes and it’s gets under control. Other than that it’s a great course! Maybe I’ll play it again if it’s in better condition. Honestly though it’s only because of the cost to play around being $100 with those conditions on each and every green. There are other course that chard $30 less in that area and now of the greens look like that.
Awesome place
Great staff. Course was in fantastic shape. Lots of fun
Great round
This place was awesome. The staff was super friendly from the get go. Course was in great condition and perfect weather. Pace of play was spot on even for the course being packed. Will definitely be back!!!
Course is in decent shape
Courses in decent shape it does get a lot of play so or a few rough spots. Otherwise it played well.
Got rained out for half the round
Course was in ok shape
Tee boxes are quite beat up
Got thru ten holes and skies opened up
Was hoping for a refund
Rock Manor - Hope for Better Days
Course gets a ton of play and it shows. Greens were fast but had a lot of ball marks.
Tee boxes were in bad shape and that could be due to heat. Decent value for the greens fee.
Overpriced
Condition was ok but not worth $80 on a weekday. I’ve played this course many times before and this was the worse condition I’ve ever seen it in. Will not be going back anytime soon.
Great Fairways but green could use work
Staff is always great and plenty of Tee Times to choose from. The cart girl did a great job and we saw her at least 4-5 times during the round. Fairways are in great condition and so is the rough but tee boxes could have been cut better/seeded as the grass was long in spots and then Bare dirt in others.
The biggest issue in my opinion is the greens. They are on the quicker side for northern DE public courses which is great but they cut way too many hole locations in the green. If you drew a 10’x10’ box on the green you could easily see at least 10 previous hole locations cut into the green. My suggestion is to stop cutting a new hole every day and utilize the same 6-8 locations on the green.
Other biggest issue with the greens is no one replaces their ball marks in the green. So between all the old cup cuts and ball divots in the green it kinda stinks.
This course has everything a mid to high handicapper would want in a course.
Excellent! Enjoyed the course very much...there are a number of challenging holes which are difficult however once you learn where to hit the ball the course becomes more player friendly with time.
Monday at RM
Started out with a chance of rain but never happened. We had a group in front us that we kept up with for the entire round. A few times we waited a bit before teeing off. The greens were a little torn up because ball marks were not being fixed. Made for a slower play because we had to fix the path of our ball to the hole. The bunkers were in a little better condition.
As for the off course amenities, they have a nice counter and table setup with a good menu and on tap selections.
Best condition ever
I've played this course many times and they keep it up despite extensive play, but this was the best condition I can ever recall. It's still early in the year and we've had plenty of rain so that has helped, but tees, rough, fairways and greens were all tip-top. Greens were running fast and rue, but not ridiculous like in Georgia.
A severe storm stopped my round after hole 13, and since it was my best scoring ever on this course, I went back the next day and asked to finish. They allowed it without hesitation and I did finish with my best score on this course, in part due to greens that made gauging speed reliably a plus.
