Solid Course in Idaho
My brother and I started our annual golf trip with 36 holes at Avondale. Of the 3 courses we played (Avondale, Couer d'Alene resort course, and The Links), we scored the worst at Avondale. Maybe it's because we jumped off of the plane and teed it up without much warm up, but we thought Avondale was tough. Lots of holes where if you hit it in the wrong place there's very little chance you'll make par. Pro Shop guys and Beverage Cart ladies were very nice! First round pace of place was good, but the second round was awful. The two of us got stuck behind a foursome who wouldn't let us play through and they were awful!!!! Hey guys, I realize it's Saturday evening and you're trying to have a good time, but let the twosome play through. Especially, when you're handicaps are 39 and you're giving each other lessons on the tee boxes and the middle of the fairways and in the bunkers and on the greens.
This course has great features
Beautiful, challenging and peaceful course. Great staff, knowledgeable and helpful.
Beautiful and challenging course
This course is very well maintained and plays very fair. Signs were great everywhere. The course is spread out with some holes playing closer together. The front 9 is more open. Many trees and hazards to work around. The greens are big and sloped. There was some nice landscaping around several greens too. The course was just in awesome shape. Groundskeepers were out in full force. GPS in the carts would be a nice touch and some water coolers too.
The Pro Shop guy charged me for 9 holes since he was running late, a nice touch. I still got my round done in under 2 hours, nobody was in front of me again. If you're in CD'A, head north a few miles and play Avondale.
Favorite holes were 2,7,15,16, & 18.
An undervalued gem!
This course is well maintained and offers an excellent challenge for the best of golfers. Pace of play was great. Everyone at the course was friendly and helpful. The beer and food after golf was as enjoyable as the course.
