Turtle Run Golf Club

Turtle Run was in great shape. The greens were terrific and the tee boxes well-maintained. The long, hot summer has had a toll on some of the fairways, but not enough to hinder play. The cart paths are pretty rough and in need of repair. And, I thought the senior rate was a little pricey for a weekday.

All in all though, I enjoyed the course and appreciate the efforts the grounds crew is putting in on the greens, traps, and tee boxes.

Really enjoy playing turtle. A little pricey compared to courses closer to home but it was in great condition.

Pace: just fine. 4some let our 2some play thru... thank you!

Conditions: tees were cut and flat, fairways were good, bunkers were raked and greens ran great. Gentleman in the pro shop said they were doing their best with all the rain they had, but the course seemed fine to me.

Staff: very friendly.

Value: great deal. Wouldn't even bother with those discount sites.

Layout: course has some elevation and movement. A few blind tee shots.

Enjoyed my afternoon. Would play again and do recommend.

The course is set on a great site. It is surrounded by mature trees with rolling hills and a creek that comes into play on many holes. From a visual stand point, 3 of the 4 par 3s are striking with #13 being the standout: An elevated green set on the edge of a steep cliff running down to the creek.

For an advanced player, the course is not very challenging. While the greens are undulating, the area around the green is quite flat and you can miss the green by 10 yards and be left with a straight forward chip. On most holes there is not a premium on hitting the fairway and many doglegs can be cut with minimal risk.

For the price point, this is a great course. It was in wonderful condition (the front 9 was immaculate) and playing it feels like a pleasant walk in.a park.

I have been playing this coarse for a number of years and have always had a great experience and the staff has been friendly and polite. The coarse has always been in great condition. The greens are always well taken care of. They have especially done an excellent job this year because of the covid-19 . I live an hour away from the coarse and always come back to this coarse even though I could go to other golf coarses that are closer to me . Thanks for the experience and your courtesy..

Absolutely fantastic day. Curse as always in immaculate condition. Perfect fairways,very playable rough and very true putting greens.. Also very well manicured sand traps. As always, great experience.

Turtle Run Golf Club is in good shape; especially the greens and the surrounds. Water is in play on 9 of the holes, but is manageable with a little care and thought. The course has a nice variety of holes with the Par 3's very challenging.

I would recommend the course at any time of the year as I play the course frequently.

Been playing here for years and is in the best shape ive ever seen it. Course came under new ownership in the last 3-4 years and they have been excellant. Would recommend playing.

Always have a great round at Turtle Run,one of my favorite courses.

Thus course had an interesting layout and each hole was unique. Lots of elevation changes for central Illinois.
