Wellington Golf Club

This place is over 100 years old and you can tell by the size of some of the trees. The greens are super nice. Roll smooth. Hardly anyone on the course at 9 am on a weekday. Got thru the round in under two and a half hours. If they gave the same love to the tee boxes as they do to the greens, this place would be top notch. For the price, its a good deal!

The fairways were very poor and there was no water on the course (it was above 90 degrees outside) very very unacceptable !!!! This was the worst the corse has been and I will not be going back anytime soon.

Course conditions have improved remarkably since last summer. Tee boxes are much, much better. Crabgrass and weeds are under control in the fairways, rough and around the greens. Greens are in great shape, rolling true and tough as always. Still a lot of winter kill in the fairways. Hopefully they can get some grass growing or bring in some sod. Most of the fairways are in pretty poor shape. This is a great old golf course and a real test. Hope that the conditions continue to improve.

The course was rough. Tee boxes were overgrown and missing markers. Fairways were also overgrown and harder to hit from. Several holes were missing the 2nd cut grass around the green, it was just dirt. We found flat marker stones in the fairway showing the distance to the green, but the grass was overgrown enough they were hard to find. There were no markers above ground showing distance. I've played here before, and it was much nicer.

We were paired up as a twosome. Starting back nine we caught up with another twosome who was behind a group of five golfers. The five golfers did not let any twosome play through so we were waiting @ each tee box on the twosome in front of us. Eventually groups caught up with us.

If GC is going to allow groups of 5, they should remind these groups to let quicker groups play through.

Waiting is part of golf, however, the twosome in front of us would show up at tee box while the group of five was still there and still weren’t allowed to play through. Don’t know if GC should be blamed or the group of five for not allowing smaller groups to play through?

Very nice course. Fun layout with a few long par 5's and some short par 3's mixed in the short rolling hills. Plays well. Love watching the trains roll past as you play. Course appeared to be maintained well. Driving range actually has some shade to stand in while you hit. Would definitely play here again.

Greens need some help. The grass on the sides leading up to the top of the green were in pretty sad shape. Still would play again though.
