Fun course!
Fun course for seniors. The course was full of short par 4"s and par 5's which was fum for this 74 year old golfer. The greens were on the slow side but were in great condition and rolled smoothly. Lakes were in play on the first ninth and eighteenth holes and were fun to play. My wife and I plan to return in the very near future.
Good course
Course in pretty good shape bunkers in bad shape greens pretty good grass not cut often enough clumped up would play again though
Sunday Golf
It is a nice golfing experience at this course. It has a decent layout, and can be challenging at times. Played here many times and enjoy coming back.
Excellent layout in good condition
played 27 holes yesterday. The course is in good condition. Fairways are in good condition with ample turf coverage. Tee boxes are in great shape. Bunkers have not been maintained due to covid, so we pulled the ball out if it went in one. Greens are rolling great and are true. One or two dead spots on them, but very playable. I really enjoy the layout of this course. The front is fairly open off the tees, but tightens up the first few holes on the back. Number 9 is playing as a par 3 right now. Well worth the price!
fast greens
a couple of greens had a few bad spots around the edge but putted quick the sand trap didn't have any sand in them but that's alright since if they did nowhere let you rake them anymore it was cart path only when we played another player said they had 5 inch of rain in the last 3 days it was wet but we still played quick
Not a good experience
The course was not in very good shape. The sand traps were not good, left unattended. There was grass growing in them. The greens were not in very good shape. I would not recommend this course. Also the driving range was not in taken care of as well. The teeing areas at driving range needed to be mowed. Very disappointed!!!
Course needs some work
The course needs a lot of work . The greens were fairways were decent. The sand traps were awful. The driving range area needed some attention also. I would probably not play this course again.
Getting Better, Like the Layout!
Played this course a couple months ago and it was pretty rough on the edges. Today it was a lot better, However still needs to TLC which I would not think would be that costly. Just some clean-up around the greens where the grass was cut and now laying there drying brown.
Had a really great day overall, Really like the layout and it is a friendly course for average players. Very Open! Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Pace of play was great..
First time for my wife to play it and she liked it a lot. Even said it is worth the time form BG to play it again
Western Hills GC
Very nice course except for bunkers, Tees OK, Fairways relatively wide and a great surface for ball striking, chipping areas fully grassed, greens smooth medium speed. Played the blue tees, and had a short to medium Iron in on most holes except for about 4 pars fours that played somewhat longish. Great course many hills, challenging.
Needs some TLC
Was welcomed by staff, very friendly. Nice Carts and Paved cart path throughout the course. Really liked the course layout. Overall rating would be Average at Best. Needs TLC all over. Don't think very much if any chemical treatments are happening on the fairways. The putting Greens were Ok but still need work. This track could be very nice I believe with a bit of TLC.
a great place to play
one of the few courses around that was letting you ride one person to a cart the course was in great shape the greens was in good shape they was mowing nothing to complain about considering you can still play with all the virus going on
No cancellation notice.
My friend and I booked a tee time on Friday the 3rd via golf now app for 11:30 Sunday the 5th. Our round was cancelled and I was not notified or refunded. I only found out 2 hours prior because my buddy received an email. Not sure if I wasn't notified because I didn't set it up.. I was invited via the app by my friend.
Western hills
Interesting golf course. It makes you think and play all your shots.
Poor golf now message
The worst part was that there was a aeration notice was posted but did not say that the back was closed. Figured that it meant the greens were just plugged and not that 9 holes were closed. On top of that men's club went out after my time and were just clearing the tee as i came back around.
still a good place to play
the course was in good shape the rough and fairways was mowed good the greens had some bad places in a few of them like all the other golf courses in this area from a wet spring and a dry summer but they still putted good
still a good place to play
the course was mowed good the fairway and rough was cut good so you could find your ball a few of the greens had a few bad spots on them but they still putted good with a wet spring and dry summer most of the golf courses in this area got the same problem still a good place to play
