Mere Creek Golf Course
About
Mere Creek Golf Course was originally built as a nine-hole course at the former Brunswick Naval Air Station, reserved exclusively for military personnel, veterans, and their guests. The course is now open to the public, offering a challenging but fair test for all skill levels. The holes are somewhat lengthy, which can prove to be tricky off the tees, but the approach shot is more straightforward. Good placement on your first shot and a good drive will guarantee success on almost every hole. The course is far from being flat but it is still an enjoyable walking course. It is great for beginners and casual golfers looking for some practice before taking on a tougher golf course. The casual atmosphere and affordable rates add to Mere Creek's popularity.

Nice nine hole trek
This course offers challenges and play for golfers of all ages and abilities. Walkable if you choose ,with a friendly staff, inside or outside choices to sit and enjoy beverage, snack, sandwich or burger. Range tight behind clubhouse and a friendly knowledgeable trading staff with lessons for kids and adults make this a great choice for locals and mid coast Maine visitors alike.
Left with out playing
There were 6 foursomes stacked up in front of me at my tee time. I left without playing.
Need to do a better job of scheduling and pace of play.
Nice nine hole tract
Course was in great condition and provides interesting challenges for all levels of play without being intimidating.. Friendly staff and both indoor and outside options to enjoy food and beverages add to the overall experience..
Nice Course
I enjoyed this course quite a bit, it was a beautiful day. The Course was clean and the grass was well cut.
Perfect Day at Mere Creek for 9 Holes
This Course at Mere Creek is in Perfect Condition, I mean Perfect. The grounds are mowed to perfection, the Greens are some nice. They have opened up the Wooded area and trimmed some trees and remove the underbrush. It has never be this nice.
Improvement after US Navy Left
Former golf course for Brunswick Naval air station, now public since the Navy’s departure. Conditions much improved. Design requires hard and fast fairways given the length of holes 3, 6,7, and 9. Greens well maintained, putt true. Bunkers marginal, fairways and rough relatively ragged. Good beginner’s course, with driving range (poor shape) and nice practice area.
This course is in great shape and every retired person knows it.
I wish no one knew about this 9 hole course. I would love to have the time to play this course at 10 am on a sunny warm day. But! that is when the other 300 , 70 year old and up foursomes come out ( mostly walking) The golf course is in great shape. They use natural surroundings (uncut grass- mostly marsh grass ) to add a level of difficulty to the layout. There is an interesting hill that comes into play for 3 of the holes; you will play a par three that goes straight up hill. That would be great, except that one of the people in these foursomes loses their ball in the woods, everyone goes to look for it until they find it. At times I wanted to run up ahead and just give them a ball. I have learned to go very early in the morning or very late afternoon. You shouldn't miss a chance to visit Brunswick; and you shouldn't miss a chance to play this course that is so well maintained that it is well worth the wait.
The course needs some work
We have played this course for the past 25 plus years and feel that it needs major work. I have never seen it in such bad shape. I know there has been no rain but that does not explain why it is such an eye sore. Yesterday we played and all greens had sand on them. I understand this maintenance needs to happen but really putting across sand was not acceptable.
They have a driving range
They have a driving range with real grass to hit from. They have a nice little putting green where you can work on chipping and sand. It's too early in the Maine season to talk about the course. When you consider that the whole state was still covered in snow just a little more than a week ago---it's in nice shape. Everything is very soft--but--there still are no bugs! It's a great place to work out the kinks. Let's face it--just like the course still needs some early spring attention--so does our bodies and our game. Why drop nearly 100 dollars someplace--when you can come here for less than 20 and get the same wake-up call.
