Hillview Golf Course

I have been playing at Hillview for over ten years and this is the best I have ever seen the course. I play it a few times per month since it's close to home and it's always easy to get on. The layout isn't very challenging but the greens can be tricky since they have some undulation.

The greens roll almost as good as any private club in the area. Tee boxes are in great shape and fairways have healthy grass. Hopefully, they survive the rest of the summer with water but I am blown away by the conditions.

Hillview is back in my foursome's rotation. The course is in the best shape I've seen in two years. The greens are great, fairways have grass and the rough is thick. Hopefully the management keeps doing whatever they're doing. They finally have a pub too!

I have played Hillview a few times in the past actually this past May and never saw it in such poor conditions. We only played 9 but that's all I needed to see to be very disappointed. The first and second greens are dead. Maybe diseased. Can not get a true roll. Fairways were dead and hard pan in spots. I realize we have had a hot dry month but turn on a sprinkler!! Tee boxes were in good shape. Bunkers ok. Practice putting green was in great shape. What happened here? I will go back next year to try again but not again before winter this year.
