Bizarre and Unfortunate
Paid the reservation fee on golf now, for a tee time at this place that was advertised. Drove half an hour to find out that they weren’t allowing anyone out to golf. Couldn’t find anyone to talk to at the pro shop, but there was a car there. I feel sad and cheated.
Wasn’t able to play due to rain
Was raining due to the hurricane
Couldn’t have been more rude
I did end up playing at a nearby course
Great Value for Casual Players
I honestly loved the course. The guy at the front desk was friendly and pace of play was perfect. Sand traps were a little overgrown but as a casual player, I’ll probably be coming to this course more often. Great value for somebody like myself
Great deal of fun
We had a great deal of fun playing here. The staff was very friendly, the layout was unique and fairly wide open . The greens were on the softer side and allowed us to attack the pin. Overall we had a great family golf day.
Interesting course
I was visiting fromNJ saw this place close to my hotel. It’s an interesting place. You can easily get lost on where the next hole is on the course. Non existent fairways add to this problem. The tee boxes need some work. With a bit of care it could be awesome !
Great course this time of year, Great staff year round
Nice course. Very friendly staff. Grounds keeper was ready for me to be lost looking for hole #2 and pointed me in the right direction. It's the little things. The greens are extra nice at the expense of some of the tee boxes. This is good strategy, since we hit off a tee and not the grass anyhow. It's a small course with limited resources, but they make good decisions. You can get a cart for $20 for 18 or $12 for 9. They have a limited selection of drinks and snacks. It's a relatively easy course but it does require a few accurate tee & approach shots, and there are a couple more challenging greens.
Great course, great value
Had a fantastic round the other day, the ground can be pretty wet but other than that the course was great, nothing more you could ask for
Better than driving range
This course is not bad for practicing because you get to use all your clubs in your bag. I walked the course and it was not a difficult walk. If you play 18 holes, you will get to replay the same nine again. Therefore you can measure your first nine versus the second time you play it. Fairway is not that good but the greens are decent. Would I play it again? Maybe, because it beats the driving range.
JKE
Wet
much standing water & deep pools. Greens in good condition. Much rainfall lately. Could be a good place to play during the summer
Fantastic Local Course.
Well laid out, general great pace of play. 8 Is our favorite hole. Rick and his team are always friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to get back out.
Fantastic First Round at Wampanoag
I played here this morning (9/2021) and had a fantastic time. This was my first time here and I was the fist one off. I walked 18 in around 2 hours and didn't feel rushed or slowed down. One very friendly twosome let me play through on my second 9 and as regulars they even helped steer me in a better direction than I took on my first lap. The course was a bit wet but was in very good condition and felt well kept. Nothing seemed neglected.
The full course brings you around 9 holes twice and has a challenging mix of 3's, 4's, and a 5 that allows for low scoring opportunities. The tee boxes aren't the prettiest but neither is life. You'll find 4 full sets of tees, although a few of the blues were up with the whites due to wet conditions. The fairways provide a fun variety of lies and the varying direction of grass growth added to the challenge. The greens were an absolute treat to pitch and chip into. While the greens are small, soft and forgiving, they can be attacked aggressively if you're willing to take risks with the many trees and wet areas on the course.
Barry, the head of grounds, was the one I first met when I arrived and was extremely helpful and accommodating and even provided me with a number of very helpful pointers and insights into the course as I ran into him around the first 9.
The owner, Rick, is a great guy and I really enjoyed talking with him about the club and its history. He runs a great place and everyone that I met and talked with there was quite friendly.
I will definitely be back to play again soon. Thank you!
