Amazing Experience
I had no idea this is the oldest links style course in the USA. Let me tell you this course is so fun and challenging I can't wait to play again. I usually play in Florida and this course is completely different. It's almost hard to play because of the scenery. The views are so beautiful from start to finish. The greens are very well maintained. The holes are challenging and fun. Such an amazing experience. If you have the opportunity to play this course do it. It's definitely one you'll never forget.
Always fun
Great time on a beautiful property….totally enjoy it whenever we play there… followed up with some local seafood for lunch… great day
Never disappoints
Made our annual visit to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Found an absolutely perfect day and were able to see whales offshore. Everyone should try this course!
Good links style golf but too crowded
The course is 9 holes with excellent views of ocean and Highland lighthouse. Greens were slow but ran true. Wispy rough was a nice challenge as were the fine sand bunkers.
The problem was that there was no regulation of groups starting their second nine and no starter or ranger, so our group waited for every shot and the nine holes each had two to three foursomes on them. I gave up after nine, which is extraordinary.
In conclusion, the course is worth the fees, but I recommend paying for 9 holes at a time
Slow Pace Unfortunately
There were two groups in front of me and they were moving at a very "deliberate" (I.e., slow pace) so I did not have an enjoyable experience. Just one of those days...
Great 9 Hole Track
Beautiful views, Fun Links challenging course. Great time!
A beautiful course
This is truly "links challenging". We love playing this course for the beauty and how honest it keeps us if we miss the fairway.
Nice staff and a wonderful break from the beach while on vacation.
Tremendous Value
Tremendous value and a beautiful cause if you don’t catch it in full fog. We realize why the early morning teetimes are cheaper, as it is because of the usual fog that sets in in the morning. We could not see your experience the beauty of the course do the fog for the entire nine holes. 11 that it was terrific.
great views
a classic links course on the highlands greens are good running at about 8 soft and rectitude don’t like the fairway situation fairways are not in great shape snd are actually cut only about the width of a regular road fescue snd lots of poison ivy line the narrow landing areas views are superb but fairways need yo be better
Poor Management - no rules
It’s a shame but I can’t golf here anymore. On vacation in Truro recently and scheduled several tee times at Highland Links. Course is special *but* if you don’t like golfers jumping your tee time, entitled townies, obviously (on first tee so should never been allowed to go out) drunk golfers, golfers in tee shirts and flip-flops, fivesomes, and other eye-popping transgressions best to go to Chequesset in Wellfleet. There is a (lack of) management problem here.
Don't make a tee time!!
I'm in Boston for business and I made a reservation for 12/4/22 for 2 golfers/9 holes walking for 12/4/22 and when I arrived at the course, the clubhouse was locked, no carts (push or otherwise) were available. A sign was posted on the door stating that the course was on an "honor" system - put $10 in a mail slot and go play. No mention on GolfNow or the course website said that this was the policy so I overpaid for the round by $55. Because I had no idea this was the policy so I didn't know about it until I arrived at the course, it was too late to cancel the reservation. If you go to the course's website today, they are offering $65 rounds with cart availability...don't do it!!!
incredible views
The views of the ocean from the fairways and Tee boxes were amazing
Highland Links
Highland Links is a wonderful course that is challenging and beautiful! Dan and Dave are wonderful and welcoming!
Views great! Course not so much!
The greens had been recently punched, and the fairways were not mowed. The views were fabulous, but the golf was meh.
