Chequessett 8/17
Played a round of 18 - 2 golfers.
Course was seemingly dried up which lent to incredibly fast greens and a few beat up tee boxes.
Pace of play on the front 9 was fine but got stuck behind a rather slow group on the back who were walking. The starter addressed the issue and asked them to speed up their play.
Decent course but be mindful of the fast greens and chewed up tee boxes on a number of holes.
Will play it again to compare conditions.
A gem of the past
So sad to see how much this course has been let go. Used to play this course nearly every day 10 years ago and conditions were phenomenal back then. Unfortunately, that is not the case anymore. Aside from hole 1 and hole 9, most of the course is nearly unplayable- tee boxes with no grass, none existent fairways, ect. Other groups were jumping in front of and behind us mid-round. Overpriced for what you actually get in return. Wish someone would purchase the course and totally revamp it. Doesn’t seem like a penny has been put into maintenance.
A shell of it's former self
I had heard of good things about the course prior to heading out. This was out first time playing here but it looks like the course has seen some better days.
The greens were solid and challenging but everything else needs some help.
Good little run for all abilities but don't plan on sitting around the table post round as they close the kitchen at 3 during the week.
Too bad because this has the potential to be a memorable 9hole course.
Awful
First couple holes and hole 9 were great. Middle holes were literally unplayable. No fairway, huge drop zone because it was such a mess. Go anywhere else
Everything good except 6th hole. They should somehow repair it or make it a par 3.
Disappointed
We arrived 25 minutes before our scheduled tee time and with no groups visible in front of us, we were told to wait at the putting green to be called. After waiting past our scheduled tee time of 9am, we were told we had to allow another group - the 8:40 tee time to jump in front of us while being reminded how busy the course was and to keep up our pace of play before playing a single hole. On two occasions we saw one hole spaces on the course while we waited to hit on 7 of 9 holes. Inexcusable and disappointing that an established course would be run so poorly
Great staff, nice facility
Nice course. Pro shop staff were very friendly. 3 holes had flooding problems and weren't in good condition. Sounds like they are going to make changes next summer to address. Regardless....course was fun and worth playing again.
Sunday afternoon play
Great greens and a nice layout for a 9 hole course. Some rough spots in fairways due to flooding and on or two tee boxes were pretty bare.
Cart returns required by 6PM which was not presented at booking thru GN.
Would play again as it was an enjoyable round with several unique holes and views.
Great round!
If you’re in the area this is a must try, challenging course in great setting.
Love the location and the views, pretty tough after that
Played a 4 hour round which was nice. Two guys sub 10 hdcp and wives.
Staff was excellent, really friendly. Course is really fun layout for both competent players as well as newbies.
Tees and greens were in great shape. In between them is the issue. Replace fairway turf with 4" crabgrass and you'll get the picture. Fairways were frankly either non existent of grass or 4" crabgrass. Shame really, I think because these areas are below sea level they get saturated really easily, killing any attempt to grow grass. Too bad, great layout.
