Bay Valley Hotel & Resort
About
Bay Valley Resort & Conference Center is situated in the heart of the Great Lakes Region of Bay City. Desmond Muirhead designed the golf course in 1973. The traditional layout is characterized by its very large, fast greens. Water is a prominent feature on the course, coming into play on 13 holes. The golf course is also well bunkered, but there are only rare occasions where you'll have to carry a bunker in order to reach the green, and it is quite forgiving even if your shots are short. The terrain is mostly flat, making it a pleasant golf course to walk. It's not the most formidable test, but it's an excellent option for advanced players looking for a casual round or beginners who want some practice. Bay Valley's playability makes it ideal for tournaments and group outings as well.

Golfer Reviews
Needs a greenskeeper...applications welcome.
It was a nice weekend, the greens has not been cut or rolled. That surface was rough. Oh, and those "bucking" golf carts! This is not the Bay Valley of old.

I really like playing this golf course, cart paths needs
help!
Could be an absolutely awesome course if they took care of their greens and tees
This course has a beautiful lay out and nice scenery for being within the city. But the greens are absolutely fried dust comes off the greens when you chip up and no one seems to repair their ball marks. Tees are pretty beat up finding a level spot to hit from is rough. But the price is fair and the location is convenient I’ll return, just wish they would fix their greens and tees
Not what it used to be
Bay Valley used to be a beautiful and well maintained course. It’s in a lot better shape than last year but it still needs help. A lot of the bunkers have stuff growing in them and the greens have a lot of dead spots. For $25 it’s a good deal, but wouldn’t pay more than that to play it. The layout will always be a favorite of mine
Worst greens in American!!
I use to play this course a lot when it became public. Awesome layout but greens are horrible!! Debris everywhere!! Sucks that they don’t put a dime back into the course!! Use to be best in the area!
Can never get a tee time here
I’ve called all throughout the golf season to play here and the guy who works there says they either have something going on or doesn’t answer the phone. Claimed one time that he had an outing going out at 4pm on a Wednesday. I’ll be taking my business somewhere else what a joke.
Course
Great place to play
Great staff
Course in great shape
Good price for a round of golf
Overall I would rate them A
great and enjoyable
My son from California and I played this twice this year when he was home in August and we enjoyed it greatly, we were not rushed and the weather was great to bad we didn't shoot better but it was great
Great layout and Value, but Lost the Greens recently
We like this challenging layout, love the price and staff but the greens have developed several spots that look like fungus or rot. Had to move balls right and left on greens to avoid putting through the pot holes. We hope its temporary because we really do like this place, but not with those greens. sorry Bay. Valley, may not be back for awhile.
Championship Course Outstanding Value
Always enjoy our time on this course, accommodating friendly staff , layout is a good as you’ll find , challenging mix of long short left right , water sand trees conditions are pretty good. Least expensive course around, if don’t expect brand new carts or a fancy pro shop you’ll be ok.
Resort????
If you like resort like golf courses, lodging, amenities, then this is the place for you to NOT come. How can they vlam this to be a “resort”is mind boggling. Lodging building looks nice from the outside however, the golf course leaves something to be desired. Very poor or lake of “next hole” signage especially after hole #2 as the cart pTh with lead you to #9. #3 is like a 1/4 mile down the other way with no signage.
