Disappointing Local Course
Idyl Wyld has always been the lesser of the three Livonia courses but it was a decent last minute option since they always have tee times available. Recently, they continue to go downhill. The fairways are in good condition but the greens and tee boxes are not good. Ball marks are not fixed and divots are not replaced. The golfers at Idyl Wyld tend to be less experienced at golf etiquette in terms of course repair and pace of play. We were 30 minutes late teeing off and there was no ranger to keep things moving or ensure golfers were keeping up. We were supposed to tee off before 7PM but since we didn't get off until 7:30PM we only finished 6 holes. If the pace of play was maintained there is no reason we shouldn't have finished all 9. When we asked about all of this after our round the girl at the desk didn't seem to care. She needs to be trained on customer service. No apologies or anything. She said their rangers don't work on Wednesdays. Unbelievable. They were completely overbooked and still didn't care what was happening on course. When we said we wouldn't be back, she said "well we have plenty of business anyway". No wonder this is the worst course in Livonia.
Poor pace of play
Took two and a half hours to get through nine holes. Apparently that is expected too. I personally don’t enjoy my round taking that long so I will not be returning.
Close to Home
Great course. We took our daughters out for their first time. Was a great experience and the food at One Under was excellent!
Good local course still a challenge.
This is a good course to challenge yourself on.
While it looks easy, the wind and layout will challenge you.
Great conditions
The course is an excellent condition. The greens roll true and our very nicely manicure. It is a very short course but still challenging.
Horrible
Horribly taken care of. Divots everywhere, tee box was covered in holes. The course has 2 rivers going through it and are perfectly placed so that you cannot hit driver unless you carry 300 yards. All the holes are super close together so that if your drive isn’t perfectly straight you are on another fairway. Again, the course was horribly taken care of. I am bad at golf and still how bad this course was made me mad.
Course condition
The fairways were in beautiful condition; greens seemed to have blotches of maybe a different kind of grass, but they rolled true.
Good course for the Money
Of the 3 Livonia courses we play this one has the most challenging par 3s and several other difficult holes.
Open when others weren't
This was a nice course that was surprisingly well maintained given how late in the season we went.
