Descent public course
If you can get a tee time at a discounted rate, it’s worth it but there are many courses at their standard rate that are much nicer. The fairways are relatively flat, several areas of brown or barren turf and a few holes feel like a shooting gallery. Practice facilities are nice, the staff was great.
Whispering Willows is a good municipal golf course. It is always in good condition. Even the cart paths have been repaired recently. Greens putt true, tees are in good shape and the bunkers have sand. I only have two issues:
The pace is always on the slow side. I was in a threesome following another threesome and it took 4 hours on a Monday morning—when the parking lot was about half full.
Livonia courses have installed software in their carts that does not permit the cart to drive into restricted area. Unfortunately, their notion of restriction does not necessarily match the operator’s. At one point, my cart shut down and I had to back up while driving on the cart path behind the green. It is very annoying and I know of golfers who will not play Livonia courses because of this.
Amazing course, well run all around!
From check-in to the final hole and after round amenities, this place was amazing and I will be back soon! New favorite course found!!
Whispering Wiillows has up north vibe
Fun course with combination tight holes and open fairways to swing away! Great value option!
Excellent! Changes made trees removed; better
Excellent course, they made some landscape changes for the better. Much more playable.
Good course, cart path only
Still early in the season. Got a few soggy spots. "Cart path only" enforced by GPS. We were promised flying cars, instead we have nanny mode golf carts. Welcome to the future.
Golf Carts
Golf carts are over controlling, when I told the starter I was handicap he said look at all the nice features this electronics offers you in this cart. Never turn on the handicap feature
Pace of play nightmare.
Was waiting 10 minutes on every tee box, left after 11 holes. An absolute nightmare of an experience.
