Whispering Willows

I booked a “Hot Deal” on GolfNow as a single. I was sent out with two gentlemen who played the forward tees. With perfect fall weather and good company, the front nine was very enjoyable despite a slow pace (we waited on every tee and on most, the preceding group was still there). My partners only played nine so when I made the turn I waited for the group following to arrive and asked if I could join them. They were happy to oblige. They were playing the back tees. My only criticisms of the course are the software they use to guide their carts. They will stop you and make you back up slowly if you are somewhere they don’t want you to be. Often, that place makes absolutely no sense. My other criticism is that several bunkers had no sand and were firmer than concrete (but it is getting late in the season). Whispering Willows is a good golf course that should appeal to golfers of all abilities and I do recommend it.

Picked up a hot deal for 2. Nice day, course was in good condition, save some overwatered spots where the ball plugged. Greens were surprisingly fast and challenging

It was a perfect day with great conditions. Course was in excellent shape, absent that nobody was fixing their ball marks on the greens. Sometimes I had to fix a couple just to putt. Ranger was out there trying to speed up a slow group so that’s always good to see.

Starter was very nice. Course was in good shape. Only complaint was a foursome that played very slow two spots ahead of us. Lots of waiting.

I booked tee for 18H, but I could not play for 18h. Front 9 was closed and two group for 8 players were ahead. It took for 3 hours for only 3 players of 9 h. I was supposed to play for 18 h in 3 hours. It was ridiculous. They offered another round of 9H. It was too late to play the one. Before I played I wished I knew the situation, I could cancel and got full refund.

GolfNow and the golf course should have communication regarding the course situation.

The golf course should call you players regarding conditions.

I was very disappointed.

great day for golf and Whispering Willows delivers. Only downside was pace of play for a Tuesday afternoon.

Course was in good condition except for a few tee boxes. Some local knowledge is helpful because a few holes are too tight for driver. Overall a good challenge and value

If you can get a tee time at a discounted rate, it’s worth it but there are many courses at their standard rate that are much nicer. The fairways are relatively flat, several areas of brown or barren turf and a few holes feel like a shooting gallery. Practice facilities are nice, the staff was great.

Whispering Willows is a good municipal golf course. It is always in good condition. Even the cart paths have been repaired recently. Greens putt true, tees are in good shape and the bunkers have sand. I only have two issues:

The pace is always on the slow side. I was in a threesome following another threesome and it took 4 hours on a Monday morning—when the parking lot was about half full.

Livonia courses have installed software in their carts that does not permit the cart to drive into restricted area. Unfortunately, their notion of restriction does not necessarily match the operator’s. At one point, my cart shut down and I had to back up while driving on the cart path behind the green. It is very annoying and I know of golfers who will not play Livonia courses because of this.

From check-in to the final hole and after round amenities, this place was amazing and I will be back soon! New favorite course found!!

Fun course with combination tight holes and open fairways to swing away! Great value option!

Excellent course, they made some landscape changes for the better. Much more playable.
